“How can I be like this? Why does it suddenly hurt so much that I want to cry?” The feeling struck a moment after his eyes made contact with the mysterious painting shown by René earlier. At first, it was just a little tightness in his chest, but as the painter went further to tell the story, the feeling got worse. He even cried for a moment before he ran away from his lecturer’s residence. He hoped that René wouldn’t have the chance to see his tears. His body felt weak. He couldn’t even move his legs to get up even after the elevator had arrived on the ground floor, and the door started to open.

Half a month later, in the middle of the night, my phone buzzed with a message. It was from Lex. [Audrey, I'm sorry.] I stared at it for a moment, then put the phone down. I didn't reply. Our story had ended long ago. I closed that chapter. From now on, our lives will go their own way—like two roads that'll never cross again.

He drank. I watched until the cup set down. My chest flexed in a quiet, satisfied way. The small machine had recorded, the steam had done its soft work, and the night had bent an inch toward me. Something in me softened for a second pity, perhaps, or understanding. He would not be easy to shape. He would not be simple to fold into a story. But stories like mine do not need many steps. They need one careful picture and then a thousand mouths to tell it. I had the picture. I had the night. For now, that was enough.

She debated whether or not to send the letter, but ultimately decided against it. Samantha realized that she had to focus on herself and her child, rather than hoping for a reconciliation with Adam. She continued to work hard and provide for her family, finding happiness in the small moments of life. One day, Samantha's child falls ill and she rushes to the hospital. She is overwhelmed and scared, not knowing how she will be able to pay for the medical bills. As she sits in the waiting room, a kind stranger notices her distress and strikes up a conversation. "Excuse me, are you okay?" the stranger asks.

SUMMARY The protagonist of the story is Rebecca. Rebecca is a single 32 year old woman who lives in an apartment on the lower east coast of Manhattan. This is a low class community so she is not compelled to make conversation with the locals. She works in the accounting department of a Multi-Sector Conglomerate Co-operation.

Oh, for your information, at glance, you will be confused why I use present tense on this story, normally a narrative will use past tense instead of the present, eh wait, it"s not a legend, and it"s my own story! If anything after this all I can is don’t read the story and don’t discredit it because it takes lots time and effort to write a story and make it perfect Chapter One: Prologue Phera POV: Growing up, you always have this one person who would always leave their mark in your life.
