He stood at the threshold, leaning against the door frame, watching Killian and Damon pushing a cart filled with harvested vegetables. Reed's jaw dropped. "They... do not burn." Chief Han giggled, "Yes, Reed. They could walk in sunlight."

"Our eyes can be damaged." The little girl ran to the window to see something, and then a few seconds later returned to her father's side. "Look, our neighbors saw the eclipse too! They even bring a tub filled with water." Suddenly one of the men in the corner of the room approached and sat in one of the other chairs with the girl's parents. He put the book he had read on the table. "They're just acting like they're brave, Saras," he said softly.
