I press my hand to him, trying to get him to stay still. “I can help,” I murmur, fumbling with the heavy book in my lap. He pauses, eyes darting to the old book. His gaze hardens in suspicion but then softens. He recognizes what it is. I flip frantically through the brittle pages. 39… 91… 180… Focus. My fingers finally find the right page and relief washes over me when I spot the illustrations. I place the book next to me and take the bag, searching for the right leaves stuffy stuff. I do not know what. At least the book has pictures in color.

She looked at the book for a minute before her face scrunched up. Obviously, she didn’t know the answer. Bored as hell, I finally stood up and went to get the book 257. Upon opening the book, the blank page started glowing, and words formed above it. I'm followed by seas but never filled with water; I guide the waves and pull a bit harder. What am I? It’s a riddle.
