She muttered, staring around the library. "Where is what?" Ralph couldn't help but ask, furrowing his brows in confusion. "Yes! It should be there." Rieka rushed to a shelf, pulling a stool before climbing it. She grabbed a huge book at the top of the shelf, climbing down carefully. "What that?" "This is a book about everything you ever want to know about.... The alpha's mate." Rieka smiled, placing the book the table. "The alpha's mate? You mean Amelia?" Ralph raised his brows quizzically at her as she brushed off the dust on the book.

This note could be an invitation to adventure or a summons for something far more sinister. The note burns a hole in my pocket, its cryptic message replaying in my mind. Part of me wants to dismiss it as a prank, yet my curiosity wins out. So, I make my way through the maze of shelves, running my fingers along the spines of countless books as I pass. Each step takes me deeper into this labyrinth of knowledge, now transformed into something sinister and surreal.

The girl said. “Same here. I actually thought that this book wasn’t popular but you’re reading it as well. Oh, I’m Kayne by the way, Kayne David.” “I’m Natsumi Koga, it’s nice to meet you!” “Ah yes, you as well. I was actually about to ask if you always come here.” Kayne asked. “Uhuh, I always go to this café every time I go to town, this is actually kind of my spot, haha.”

I pulled out a medium-sized book, a deep shade of navy blue. Earthen twine was wrapped around the book, and there was a picture on the front. A middle-aged man with chocolate hair and dark eyes smiled up at me. The cover of the book read, “Arthur Zimmerman, Game 71.

“Ramiel?” Asking, yet somehow taunting, she closes the book as she stands in the middle of the same torches that appear after every dread and dark core of the holders that this very game is showing her, with its façade of a game. Counting the seconds as she expects the character to appear and represents that certain holder by which madness is drawn from another world and book. The same voice echoes, starting with its giggle, and falls unto the riddle-like question with the words.

I inquired, confused about all of it. “I… I don't know, but the book knows…” She got up and took out some very old book from the top bookshelf in the room. It wasn't an ordinary book, it looked like an expensive antique. It had a leather cover, and beautiful ornaments all around the front and side. When she opened it I felt some wave of electricity flowing through my body. “You felt it, right? That's magic,” Grandma chuckled, “This is our family's magic book. It has an answer to most of the magical problems we could encounter,” she explained.

I nod and look around. “Where is the book?” I ask. She wasn’t carrying anything when she entered the room. “I always carry it with me, you just can’t see it,” Shanna explains. She mutters a couple of strange words, holds out her hand, and a book appears and falls onto it. The cover is fine leather engraved with a vine-like design that swirls around the edges of a large picture. The picture depicts a woman standing with her arms stretched up above her head. Above her, there are stars in the sky and I swear I see one twinkle. Shanna opens to the first page and I am stunned to see a spell.

A clue to the mystery of why Rafe had turned cold over the previous month. "What's happening to you, Rafe?" "Is there some illness you're not telling me about?" The man, Rafe, had a small smile on his face. He stroked my hair lightly with distant eyes. "If I ever lose myself, there's an ancient book in my room. Remember it." "Remember, I have an old book in my room." "The one from Singapore, right?" Rafe nodded when I asked. "Yes, that's the one. If I'm not myself, use it."
