Ben shoots her a look before he clears his throat dramatically.
“Picture this. It's midnight when we patrol, the forest is dead quiet, not a sound except for the wind in the trees. Then, bam!, something crashes in the bushes. My wolf is ready, claws out, his senses sharp. I am convinced that it is a rogue scout, sneaking around too close to the border.”
Aiden’s jaw drops.
“Was it a rogue?”
He whispers.
“Nope.”
Ben says, shaking his head as he leans closer.
“It was a raccoon. But not just any raccoon. This beast was the size of a wolf pup. It practically stared me down like it owned the territory.”
