A male Siren lunged from the side, his trident singing with blue fire. Ligon caught it between both hands, twisted, and shattered it, sending shards flying. His snarl reverberated through the cavern, shaking loose a rain of crystal dust.
Still, the Sirens sang. Their harmonies swirled through the air like invisible chains, pressing against the warriors’ minds, coaxing, commanding and seducing.
But Valia’s lips parted, her own voice rising in answer.
