Sleep Rain Novels & Stories

No more of Raven's endless whining. But I didn't realize that danger was already creeping closer. One night, Blazewing and I were asleep when something wet splashed across us, jolting us awake. I looked up and blinked in shock. For some reason, after all this heat and endless dryness, the sky had finally opened up. It was raining. The rain was warm, sure, but not boiling—probably around 75 °F. At first, Blazewing and I didn't think much of it.

Victor shot them a cold look, and the woman immediately shut her mouth after glaring at me. Emily lowered her head. “Lena, I’m sorry. You’ve always been so proud, and it just happened to be my birthday. I just wanted one night where people would look at me. I didn’t think it would turn out like this.” “I’m proud? I’m an illegitimate daughter. How the family looks at me every day, don’t you think Victor already knows that?” The champagne in Emily’s hand trembled, spilling onto her dress. Her eyes immediately turned red, tears forming.

The Rain of Memories Outside the ship, the silver pixels of the moon’s shell began to fall toward the surface of Sigma-9. They looked like a meteor shower of pure light. But as they hit the atmosphere, they didn't burn up. They turned into "Memory-Rain", a soft, glowing drizzle that carried the songs, the stories, and the secret dreams of the ancestors back to the people in the streets.

I locked the door as soon as she had entered and I turned around to face her. “You.. you’re wet,” I said. “I’ve been calling you!” she exclaimed as if that explained why she was wet. “I got stuck in a taxi with flat tyres when the rain started pouring and I called you!” I strained my ears and for the first time, I heard the sound of rain. It had subsided already, but taking a good look at her soaked clothes, I could tell that the rain had been heavier a few minutes ago. “I’m sorry,” I muttered and sat down beside her. “I went on a date.”

I assure him, my heart light and free when I realize it’s true. “Here.” The bear hands me a bottle of water. “You need to drink something.” I recognize the bottle as one of Santiago’s fancy imported waters. My vampire master wouldn’t waste something so fancy on me. I don’t know if I can tell the bear that. With a grunt, the bear pushes the water on me, and I don’t protest. I’m parched. The water is cool, almost sweet, and I drain the whole bottle.

She had so much on her mind that she felt like her head was getting heavy. She could no longer stand anymore. She slides down the wall...reclining her back against it. She flinched when she heard the sound of thunder and soon she felt water drops falling on her. It was raining...why is it raining so suddenly? Is the sky crying too? Is...Is Igneel crying too? She didn't see him shed a tear when he was getting beaten up. "As if...he was u-used to it," Leah sobbed and wiped the tears away from her eyes but they soon got mixed by the raindrops as soon as she looked up at the sky. Letting the rain pour on her face, drenching her whole.

—Sophia’s POV It rained all night. It wasn't gentle. The sound made our night romantic. It was loud, messy. Just like the sky just couldn't hold it anymore. I know that feeling. You think you're fine. So you carry it, and you smile, do the laundry. Make dinner. Let the hurt just... sit in you. Quiet. Patient. Like a shadow that forgot how to leave. And then one day? Downpour. That was me. Yesterday. Maybe today too.

I соvеr mу fасе аnd sob some mоrе, ѕtuсk оut here оn thе соld, rаіnу ѕtrееt. Thе rain іѕ a соnѕtаnt drіzzlе nоw. It’ѕ the tуре that mаkеѕ уоu mіѕеrаblе аnd соld but dоеѕn’t soak you tо the bone. I mаnаgе to рull myself tоgеthеr.

He slowly put me down then grab a towel in locker. “Thanks,” I murmured. He look down on me and just nod. I wiped the droplets of rain on my arms. From here, I could here the loud pouring of rain. The rain fell down constantly like an endless bucket of water being poured down from the heavens. It’s a relief that we finished our shooting before it rained. “Can I give you a ride?” Rain falls like it means to wash us away, like it means to keep hammering until we smudge like a Monet masterpiece. I watched how the droplets of rain run down on the window shield, racing from one another.

"The dust. It's conductive. It's turning the atmosphere into a giant antenna. THE RAIN We went to the balcony for "breakfast" which for Leo consisted of a block of high-calorie protein paste wrapped in lead foil, the only thing dense enough to hold its molecular structure near him. The sky over Sanctuary was a bruised violet. The sun was a dim, hazy disc behind the layer of Architect-dust. "It's raining in the South," Damian said, joining us. He moved better these days, but the damp weather still made him limp. "Reports from the Free States say it's been raining for three days straight. Black rain." "It's not water," Leo said, chewing the paste. "It's condensation collecting around the dust
