There was fresh blood on the floor, but the animal didn't react. I took a shaky step forward, my heart hammering against my ribs. The wolf didn't turn. I walked closer, standing five feet away and holding my bleeding hand out. Nothing. I walked until I was standing right next to the bars, inches from the cold metal. The wolf threw itself at the cage again, trying to get to Declan. Its claws sparked against the iron. It ignored me completely. I was invisible. "You really are a Ghost," Declan said softly. He walked up beside me. He raised the knife again and sliced his own palm.

I stood in the middle of the living room, facing the security camera's blinking red light, practicing my smile again and again. Looking into the lens, I spoke softly, like I was leaving a message for the Mom who'd watch it someday. "Mom, look. I practiced the perfect smile again today. "Lift the corners of my mouth fifteen degrees and show eight teeth. The books say that's the most sincere smile. The one that makes people feel warm. "I've practiced so much my face hurts... but that's okay. "When you watch this tomorrow... will you tell me I did a good job? "Will you finally believe I wasn't lying to you?"

It was as if his voice held an invisible leash, tugging her towards him. "That's a good girl," he purred, the corner of his lips lifting in a lopsided smile; his dimples pronounced. His smile seemed so genuine. It reminded her of the man she once fell for — a man who seemed to have vanished overnight without a trace. "Sit." He commanded, patting the space beside him on the bed. And that was exactly what she did.

When we broke away, Emily seemed to be disappointed and pouted. "Kiss her properly, your moron!" Ghost hissed from the back of my mind. "She wants some proper and deep smooching!" I dropped my head again, taking her lips hostage. Emily's breathing hitch and her sweet arousal hit my nose. Ghost was going berserk inside my mind, begging me to have him released.

He stood straight with a serious face as he began his explanation. "Ghosts are the souls of dead humans who... well, aren't ready to rest in peace. They don't have powers. All they can do is move from one place to another without being seen. Well, not by everyone though." "But... if you're a demon, why then are you in this form?" She couldn't help but ask.

She glared at Jennifer like a fierce little beast. Jennifer scoffed, amused by her defiance. She bent down and poked Nina’s forehead repeatedly. Caught off guard, Nina stumbled back, hitting her head against the iron gate with a loud thud. The noise caught Patrick’s attention from afar, and his heart clenched. "Who’s there?" Jennifer panicked and immediately covered Nina’s mouth. Forcing a smile, she called out, "Patrick, it’s nothing. Just a beggar knocking at the door. It’s cold outside. Take Johnny inside first!"

I have no feelings of hunger” he explained and chuckled. " That's not funny, why are you laughing?”I asked frowning " You look cute with food stuffed in your mouth like that” he complimented amidst muffled laughs.
