Can you imagine?” He moved a hand in a small, exaggerated gesture, emphasizing the absurdity of it all. “She made me… find rabbits, catch them, collect their blood, and offer it to her. Every drop she drank came from that tiny creature. Not one human, not one shortcut. Every single drop—her choice.” Ryan’s lips parted in disbelief, his mind spinning. “Wow,” he muttered, shaking his head slowly as though trying to clear it. “And you didn’t stop her?”

Only then did I notice what he was holding. A dead rabbit in one hand… and a bunch of bananas in the other. My eyes widened even more. “Are you…” I pointed at the rabbit, then at the bananas, then at his legs. “You’re standing… and hunting?!” He let out a small breath, his eyes softening as he watched me struggle to understand what I was seeing.

Ambrose said with a blank face. "Put the rabbit down," I said slowly and laughed nervously. There was something different in his eyes. his usual bright green eyes were dark, almost black. "Ambrose let the rabbit go," I said again when he didn't listen to me the first time. I nearly screamed as Amber suddenly grabbed the rabbit's neck and I heard the sickening cracking sound.
