My legs trembled beneath me—lingering side effects from the meds I practically lived on. Once inside, Posh joined me, and we sped off into the cold night. A short drive later, we pulled up in front of The Niraso Bar. Neon lights blazed across the entrance, and thumping music could be heard even from the sidewalk. We entered and slid into seats by the bar counter. “What can I get for you gentlemen tonight?” the bartender asked, grinning. He couldn’t have been older than twenty-two. Posh placed our orders, and within minutes, a glass of Blue Heaven scotch appeared before me—exactly what I needed.

Daiji continued, introducing the pair of Kitsune flanking them with a jerk of his head in each of their directions. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, girl. Get any angrier and you’ll be as crimson as my nails,” Navin spoke…and wiggled her fucking fingers in my face. “I got them done just before we left to come here. I wanted yellow, but I figured Soaré would be wearing the color.”

that is how my life in the Volatile Hounds came to an end. Blinking away those memories, Nathan noticed that dawn was approaching as he made his way through the silent corridors of his home. Nathan paused by a window as the beautiful morning rays shone through and warmed his pale skin. His crimson red and Amber orbs stared into the sky for a moment as he began to wonder what would happen.

“How many people have you killed, Blue... Iris?” Her eyes suddenly widened, lips parted, then she gulped, but the gun remained pressed against my groin. “H-how d-did you know?” Her question was hesitant and wary. Huh! I could distract her. “My mom had a flower shop. Of all the flowers, she chose iris to bring home every day and placed it in my room. As annoying as it is, I liked the blue one. Your eyes are blue like an iris flower. They remind me of her.”

Notifications flooded the screen, but I ignored all of them until I saw the newest message request. The profile picture showed an empty hockey rink beneath white lights. The username read BlueLine. My heart lurched. The preview only showed part of the message. It’s me. Blue line. You... My thumb hovered above the screen. One tap and I could read the rest. One tap and I could answer him. I wanted to ask how he had survived these years. I wanted to tell him I had never left willingly. Most of all, I wanted to tell him I still remembered the promise about the blue line.

My phone buzzed again, and I picked it up. “I’m trying not to get it wrong again.” I read the message slowly. There was no pressure in it, no attempt to push anything forward, just that. I did not reply immediately. Across the room, Blue stood up and walked back to the structure. She crouched beside it and looked at it carefully from the side. “It’s still standing,” she said. “Yes.” She reached out and touched one of the blocks, then quickly pulled her hand back. “I don’t trust it yet,” she said.

His blow failed to inflict any significant damage on the barrier before him. “Hmph! I refuse to believe this!” He scoffed, launching another strike. Boom! The deafening impact reverberated, causing discomfort for everyone nearby. Tyron watched in astonishment. The blue light ahead was indeed strange. Despite Adrian's efforts, it seemed impossible to penetrate this radiant barrier. Yet, Adrian refused to back down. "Heavenly Body Training Art!" he shouted, throwing another powerful punch at the blue light. This time, his attack broke through, creating a gaping hole in the barrier.

“Bluey!! You finally came. For a second I thought you abandoned me and left me to rot here. Can you imagine Amanda even came here to tell me you wouldn't come and that Isabel wasn't my child, such nonsense”. Mr gold chuckled weakly. Bluey stood tall with her shiny blue dress and dark shades to hide all the evil behind her eyes. It seems blue was her favorite color just like her name. Isabel stood just beside her mother, her face nonchalant and calm.

Fighting. None of them knew what was happening up here. My phone buzzed. Marcus: *How's it going?* I typed back: *Fine. Almost done.* *Find anything?* *Still looking.* I pocketed my phone. Turned back to the computer. 67%. 73%. That's when I saw the bar. Tucked in the corner. Dark wood. Crystal decanters catching the light. Bottles arranged by height. I walked over. Ran my fingers along the smooth wood.

“Thank you, grandfather.” “You’re welcome, sweetheart. Oh the night without you, Jai, is so blue and saddening… My, these girls are so creative. But if the sky is blue, then it’s day, and isn’t it good? Is clear blue sky not a good weather for this girl?” Barun asked to particularly no one. Miria stirred the stew with mixed feelings.
