The stifling heat is consuming all the oxygen in the car and I can’t get out because the doors are locked. Even with the windows rolled down a smidge, it makes no difference. The air outside is just as brutal. With my eyes trailed on the entrance, I watch for any sign of my parents. They never take this long.
