I tightened my grip on Giofré’s hand beside me before the feeling of his grasp suddenly diminished. Fluttering my eyes open, I felt the whole sensation of my body—cold and drenched from the rain. I was lying on the ground, feeling the mud covered my side. My vision was blurry and as my eyes started to adjust, everything became clearer. I witnessed the scene unfolding in front of me; the witches holding each others’ hands while chanting the spell, the wild wind brushing on them as they tried to prevent the dark soul from nearing them. Then suddenly, Lucas and Weston came running to their side, holding the gemstone as a witch took it.

Sheila was writhing in pain and she began thrashing on the ground, her lips releasing a sharp scream that caused a roar in the dark sky, and the earth quaked with force. She kept thrashing on the ground as Zeriyah, Valerie and the witches tried to contain her outbursts.
