Conversations quieted as the crowd shifted toward the center of the clearing, where the Elders stood beneath the glow of the full moon. The moon. Bright. Watching. Judging. My chest tightened. “Relax,” Lila nudged me gently. “What’s the worst that could happen? You find your mate, fall in love, live happily ever after—” “I don’t believe in that,” I cut in quietly. She frowned at me. “You don’t believe in mates?” I hesitated. “No,” I said finally. “I believe in them. I just don’t think they’re always… good.”

I linked him. “Damn right, we are. This going to sound bad, but the Moon Goddess can take all this special hybrid crap and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. That stuff is not what I want. I want the beautiful loving woman that is standing in front of me. The other shit doesn’t matter.” He answers.

Zelena. “Where are you going? Can I come with you?” I asked Galterio, trying to make my voice as sweet and innocent as possible. But in truth, I just needed to find a way out of here and back to Tri-Moon. Galterio looked me over for a minute, studying my face closely. “Will you behave?” he asked with a smirk. That smirk is really starting to get on my nerves. “What exactly does ‘behaving’ entail?” I asked as I crossed my arms over my chest.

She was formed out of the hope of the people in the full moon, and she needed them to believe the moon goddess was still alive and still cared for them. The more they believed in her, the more powerful and stronger she got.

“I will never regret knowing you too.” I want to look at him but I feel shy so I try looking anywhere else and notice that it’s already dark. The moon is shining bright with the dazzling stars. My adoptive mom is right, the sun and moon let each other shine at their time. I move my head and look at Airo who is now looking above too. “They are beautiful, right?” he asks. “Yeah.” A short answer escapes me. As he hears my voice, his eyes meet mine slowly moving his head towards me.

The people around us were dressed in warm clothes and were wearing their happy faces. The mayor of the village, Mr. Lee, placed a huge bag with small souvenirs next to Matt, so every kid could have something from Santa. It was so cheerful and heartwarming. “I want a car where I can sit.” A blonde boy stated with hope in his eyes. “It must be red. Like Maqueen - the lightning!” “Ho-ho-ho!” My neighbor said, “Should it be as fast as him?” “Can’t it be faster?” the boy lifted his big eyes with excitement.

" Stacy said everything that happened just now, her mother coaxes her and said ''Stacy you have plenty of time to lure max, don't worry, just enjoy tonight. You know you are beautiful enough to make anyone fall it just time is not a right baby girl." Stacy confidently said, ''Yes mom you will see one day Max will fall for me."

I asked pointing towards the box. He walked to stand in front of me, "This is for you," he lifted the box slightly. "Open it," he nodded with his head. I slowly lifted the lid of the box and a small gasp escaped from my lips as I looked at the wind chime in the box. A smile instantly made its way on my face as I touched the cold surface with my fingers. It made a soft noise when I tried to remove it from the box. There were three golden rectangular tubes in the middle with small stars and moons dangling around them unevenly. The moons represented every shape of the moon while the stars were shining brightly around it.

“Huh...that is a little weird. Is there a chance that she wanted your father to be elected or something? Maybe she’s upset.” Liam shrugged for what felt like the hundredth time today. “Well, I guess so. I just never thought of her and dad to be interested in politics.” Lily laughed. “Oh sweetie, it’s not about politics, it’s about power.” Liam felt uneasy. He knew Lily was right, but he didn’t like that. The idea that his mother was upset that she wasn’t getting the ‘power’ she deserved just felt...odd. Like she was some kind of James Bond villain. Instead, he checked the clock on the microwave.

She turned to look at him. “What’s wrong?” She said. But he wasn’t looking at her. He was staring right into the moon. The girl from the road the other night was standing right in front of him. Quinn couldn’t breathe for a minute. She was here.. why was she here? She was even more beautiful than he thought.
