Fucking hell. I blew out a short gust of air and shoved the contract into my bag. I pulled it out once more and signed it. Clearly I don’t have a choice in this. I like him, so damn much. And if I fail in two years or less, I’m moving on too. I’m moving away from this town for good. I will find someone else, get married, and have a family if I can’t have him. Because if after two years of this, and I’m still pining, then I might as well be checked into a mental hospital because ain’t no fucking way.

I couldn’t stop. Two years. Two years of my life wasted on a man who saw me as nothing more than a toy.

“For how long?” He asked. “Hmm, two years!” I went further. He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times and I couldn’t keep calm anymore. I let go of him and started laughing at his expression. “Why? Please! Harlyn. I can’t go two whole years,” He pleaded. He really thought I was being for real. I realized he was pretty gullible and he looked so young and just like a regular guy right now. I decided to put him out of his misery.

“Stop.” Chuckling, he asked, “Did you have enough?” She gave him a sidelong glance. “Do you suppose you can empty your lust in one night?” He contemplated on it sternly and said, “Nope. We’ve still got another eighty years to go.” What he said made her laugh. “Good Heavens. Eighty years. You’ll be a shriveling old man long before then. Are you sure you can still do it every day?” “Nope.”

“Two years is a long time.” “Two years is nothing,” he argued gently, though his heart was pounding. His tone was calm, almost coaxing. “It would pass in the blink of an eye, and I’d be on a plane every weekend. You wouldn’t even have time to miss me. Don’t choose smaller because you’re afraid to lose time with me.”

Did you mean that?” “What are you driving at, kitten?” He asked,his brows raising as he directed his gaze at me. “A lot could happen in two years; how sure are you that we will be together by then?” “Like What?” “What if we got tired of each other?” “Do you have a hidden boyfriend somewhere?” He interrupted, and a frown appeared on his face.

I mean if I want to get more answers from him, I have to play along. “Don't mind me I'm just pulling your legs. Look at me, I'm 60 now. I just needed something to calm my nerves.
