The lost packs
They’re both completely absorbed, and I can’t help but feel a smile tugging at my lips.
“Snack time!” I announce, setting a plate of fruit and crackers on the floor.
Zombie looks up, his face lighting up as he reaches for a cracker. “You read my mind, Amber. You’re a lifesaver.”
I sit down beside them, watching the two of them as they munch on snacks and continue their game. “You know, you’re really good with him,” I say, genuinely. “I’m impressed.”
“Thanks,” Zombie says, his tone a mix of sincerity and playful arrogance. “Maybe I should consider babysitting as a side gig.”
