Underestimated… That is what I have been almost all my life just because I am a female, a woman, a lady... but I understand… this world is filled with egotistic and chauvinistic men that need to be taught a lesson and I am more than happy to do so… My life has never been all fun and roses… I still had my mum and brothers but it will never be the same without my father. I may be of age. Far past the finding your mate age but that doesn’t mean I am in a hurry to get a mate not that I don’t want one. I do but I’m just not in a hurry. FINAL DAY OF THE AWAKENING Chaos’s P.O.V I was awoken by the beating of drums and the echoes of a chant you rarely heard even back in our home realm. A chant that was as old as time itself. I turned to find Xavier leaning against the headboard with his eyes squeezed shut. My heart broke for my little boy. He didn’t deserve what happened to him either but we were both victims of the harsh reality that is life. CHAOS’ POV I let my mind wander back to all that has happened today, the unending catching up and what not. In as much as it felt good to be alive, it didn’t help that this place awakened bad memories for me and to make matters worse, my innocent son, okay my semi-innocent son Xavier was here in this infested pack. I was leaving him back home but my son refused to part ways with me since the day he was born and in as much as it is endearing, it is also a major pain in the ass sometimes and especially in cases like this. He wanted to get to see and know his father and for the life of me, I could not deny him that. So here we are, in this darned pack. A pack that owes me blood. A pack that has awakened a bloodlust in me. One I thought I had buried for so many years now. The very same pack that I am an alpha of. Fate really has a twisted sense of humor. STILL IN ALPHA RIVER’S POV I don’t know how long I stood staring at the phoenix until I got distracted by the sound of leaves ruffling in the trees nearby. I only had to blink and the phoenix was gone. I had this boiling urgency to search for it and I did until I stumbled upon a small girl with red eyes about the age of 5-6 years. I sighed knowing very well where she was from. Getting down on knees, I asked her softly; “Hey honey, what are you doing out here alone?” No answer “Where is your mum and dad?” No answer “How can I help you if you won’t talk to me?” “I don’t need your help” she whispered “Ooh she talks!” I exclaimed sarcastically I couldn’t help the smile that graced my face when she let out a series of cute giggles. “Of course, I can talk silly” she replied snootily “So why then didn’t you answer me” I questioned curiously “Because I didn’t want to…” she replied with a sassy roll of her eye.
