DANGEROUS HUSBANDS, BROKEN WIFES
I might not be someone who drinks a lot, but if you’re born and raised in Russia, you know your liquor.
“Wait a sec. What is it? I don’t remember something like this from the menu?” I ask, checking the drink, and rotating the glass.
The barmaid’s grin widens. “It’s a special cocktail I whipped up just for you,” she says, her tone playful. “Consider it a little surprise to help you forget your troubles.”
I raise an eyebrow, skeptical. “I appreciate the gesture, but I prefer to know what I’m drinking.”
“Of course, ma’am,” she winks again. “It’s a mix of vodka, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and a splash of soda. I call it the ‘Russian Spring.’”
