Damnit! I didn’t need women who would try to seduce me just so they could become the next Luna. I didn’t need women who batted their eyelashes at me and did everything I told them with their heads bowed. I needed someone who would take care of the pack for me, look after my wolves and nurture them, but most importantly, I needed someone with a spark, a fire that was challenging. Yes, challenge. She stared at all of them for support but surprisingly no one chipped in the conflict. Regarding what Aaron had said it's true that the woman was horrendous and dreadful. I just know she emits an awful aura. I didn't know she was that mean. I glanced at her husband, son and daughter, but they were not willing to speak. I slightly bent my head in shame for her. I wasn't glad that Kendall also witnessed this side of the family.

She huffs at us, rolling her eyes before pinning us with a firm stare. "Women write these books. You want to learn how to sweep a woman off her feet? There's your manual." She says, motioning towards the book in my lap. I look at the novel with a newfound respect before looking around the room. "Seriously?" I ask and the women all nod. "Oh yeah. I'd love for my husband to read some of these books. Maybe we could spice things up a little." A woman says and many others nod their heads in agreement. "Oh hell yes. Maybe get him to growl and call you a good girl." Another says with a giggle. My eyebrows shoot up in surprise and the younger girl looks at us with amusement.

Mine had already drained away, replaced by something colder, heavier—worry. My thoughts spun as I stared out the window. I couldn’t keep clashing with him like this. That ridiculous book, The Perfect Wife, flashed through my mind—its chapters on handling dominant men. Softness. Vulnerability. Subtle rebellion. A woman with fire, but without the flames. Sweet enough to draw in. Dangerous enough to chase.

And just like that a blurry voice and an image that she assumed that was part of her memory appeared in her mind. 'A woman's worth is more than a man could never work for. A woman is a powerful person who gives light. A woman has been given a womb and a man's part and yet she can give life. A woman has been given a house and yet she made it a home that is full of warmth. A woman is someone who was given a simple thing but can give back precious treasures. A woman has never been worthless. Always remember you are a woman. And you are worth it"

“Then I will see everything. If I’m going to write this book like it’s real, then I need to see it all.” Demitri watches me carefully, studying my face. “You do realize most women, in these situations, are only shown the bare minimum?” I tilt my head, feeling curious. “I thought so. I thought the Don or the men running these organizations kept the darkness hidden from their women.”
