I made another mad dash, with Nyx right behind me. We finally found refuge against a scarecrow, our chests heaving as we caught our breath. But the scarecrow blinked at me, and suddenly, it sprang to life, jumping down from its post, brandishing a machete, and making a beeline for me. Nyx and I shrieked and fled in opposite directions. I sprinted to the right, heart racing, desperately trying to put distance between me and the scarecrow. I stumbled upon a darkened area in a field and dove into the bushes, hoping to evade him.

Before he put them in the fire, his hand too got wrapped by two more snakes with their tail into the soil. Satan growled as his fury touched the edge, exhibiting a blood-core demonic aura that caused all the trees there to turn completely to ashes, and the soil to turn red in blood as the demon with his snakes granulated under the soil. Similarly, a crown appeared on his head in place of horns.

He drew a few more spells, causing spiritual energy to roll off his body in waves as six scarecrows appeared around Wilbur to surround him. "Have a taste of my Dark Harvest." The spiritual flames on Maddox's body shot into the air as he burst out laughing. The six scarecrows were each around two meters tall, sporting torn straw hats and terrifying expressions. Four limbs stuck out of each of their lanky bodies, with one of those limbs holding a long, thin scythe. These scarecrows seemed to radiate a terrifying forcefield, burning with jet-black flames as they waved their burning scythes and made their way over to Wilbur.

Its eyes glowed with an eerie, green light, and its fur was matted and unkempt. Rorik and Lyra recognized the creature immediately. It was a demon, a being of great power and darkness that had not been seen in the forest for many generations. Ziva's heart sank as she realized the full implications of their discovery. The demon was the source of the sickness that had been spreading through the forest, and it was clear that it posed a grave threat to the safety and well-being of all the forest's inhabitants.
