Chapter 38- Midnight Rendezvous AURELIA POV All of this was Azrael’s fault. Everything bad happening in my life… definitely his fault. There was no way a single lunch should leave someone incapable of functioning for the entire week. Yet here I was, still thinking about him. The conversation I had with Tommy-my homeless friend, made me view him in a different light. I saw him more as a human than an unreachable god that lived among the stars in the sky. And I didn’t know if that was good or bad. Or maybe both.

In the final instant of my fall, I grabbed onto her, and the two of us fell to our deaths together. Then we were both reborn. In this life, we each made choices completely different from before. She got what she wanted, encountering the Mafia Boss's heir on a street riddled with gunfire and becoming his wife. I changed my own fate as well. Only then did the exhaustion—both physical and emotional—finally fade away. Walking out of my room, I saw Mom in the kitchen, having made a whole table of my favorite dishes. For the first time since I was sent back in time to relive my life, I smiled with genuine ease. My study‑abroad paperwork was processed quickly, and once everything was done, my parents took me out to a nice restaurant to celebrate. That night, after we got home and stepped out of the car, a figure suddenly stumbled out from the shadows. A foul, sour smell hit us immediately. I looked closer and realized it was Maya.

“I don’t want power. I don’t want fear. I want someone with warmth. Someone who’ll see me, not just claim me. My mate has to have a heart, not one that’s locked away behind walls.” Rainey studied me for a long moment, her eyes searching mine. Then she sighed and gave a small shrug. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe the Goddess won’t pair you with him. But still…” She glanced back toward the fire, where a ripple of voices rose louder, “…sometimes fate doesn’t ask what we want.” I felt the weight of her words press against me as I turned my gaze to the clearing, my stomach knotting tighter. Because deep down, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to find out what fate had in store for me.

When? She had lots of questions to ask, but Harriet cut her off. “When the time is right, I'll explain everything,” came her reply, making Lena nod, yet the latter kept glancing at her with so much admiration. Her friend was the founder of Beauty blossom! An excitement filled her, and she suddenly found that Simon wasn't as repulsive. When the little get-together ended, Harriet checked the time, only to find that it was already 5:30 PM. How had time passed so quickly without her noticing!

Aidan appeared beside him almost instantly. “You need to see her.” “Will I die if I don’t?” he asked flatly. It felt like it. “Things won’t end well.” “Whatever move I make now, things won’t end well.” “You have to trust that this happened for a reason. Fate wouldn’t—”

“I didn’t put you in this situation. Fate did.” Her laugh was sharp, biting. “Convenient excuse. You and Kade both seem to think you can use ‘fate’ as a leash to drag me wherever you want.” A growl rose in my throat at the mention of my twin. Kade. The other alpha. My rival in every sense of the word. “No, Aria,” I said, stepping even closer. “Fate isn’t a leash—it’s a bond. One you feel just as deeply as I do. And you owe it to yourself to figure out what it truly means.”

Chapter Eighteen — Dissapointment And Heartbreak Drake’s POV I was still waiting. Waiting for him. Waiting for Fred. He said he would come back. He said he would return to me. I believed him. But it’s been too long. The sun has set. The moon has come and gone. Still… he’s not here. I sat at the edge of the cave, looking out. The wind touched my face gently, but my heart felt heavy, like a stone.

This was the ;ast they would see of this family maid. Heheheheheh~ Nate walked towards Lydia and held a gun towards her face. “Sorry Miss Lydia but it’s time to die.” Lydia stared at the finger, her tears still continuously trickling down her cheeks. “If there’s a next life, I will kill you all.” Bang! The gun went off and Lydia slowly lost consciousness. Tick-Tock. Tick-Tock. Time passed for what seemed like an eternity, with Lydia seeing nothing but darkness all around.

His fortune just helped prolonge the inevitable. I was only suppose to fall in love with Alexander and fate was suppose to take him away quickly. He was never suppose to achieve all the things that he did. I was never suppose to have thousands of memories with him. "You can't believe that lie.
