Damien adjusted her hair with surprising tenderness. “Whatever happens in there,” Kael said, looking at both of them, “we face it together. No regrets.” “No regrets,” Damien echoed. Serena smiled through fresh tears. “No regrets.” They stepped out of the greenhouse hand in hand — a werewolf, a vampire, and a witch, bound by blood, grief, love, and growing desire. The final descent into the Nexus awaited. As they approached the glowing archway once more, the fusion creature had grown even stronger, now absorbing the bodies of fallen infected around it. It blocked the entrance completely and spoke with a chilling new clarity:

“Fight it. Come back to me. You’re stronger than this thing.” The fused Damian laughed—low, dangerous, but missing the warmth that had always been there. “He’s gone. I am him now. The perfect fusion. The one who will own you. The one who will rule through the child.” It crossed the room in two strides, grabbing Alex by the collar and yanking him forward. The kiss was brutal—teeth clashing, tongue invading, possession in every movement. Alex moaned despite himself, the mutation making the kiss feel like fire in his veins. The entity pushed him back onto the bed, spreading his legs wide.

“If we fight them without understanding them, we might lose everything. They know me, Nathaniel. They called me a bridge between bloodlines. I think they want me to join them.” The silence stretched long between us. Finally, he stood, cradling my face in his hands. “You are my mate, Riya Wolfsong. My Luna. You were born a wolf, raised by pain, and healed by the moon. I won’t let them take you from me.” I wanted to believe him. I needed to. But deep down, a voice echoed in my mind. A memory. A vision. “You will walk between fire and fang. You will burn or be reborn.”

The Moonlight glimmered softly, reflecting off Lunaria’s glowing silver skin and Kael’s golden eyes. Breathing heavily, Kael lowered his hand from her shoulder. “You fought well,” he said quietly. Lunaria exhaled, letting the adrenaline fade. “We fought well,” she corrected. “Together.” Her wolf purred softly, sensing the connection between them. Stronger. We are stronger. Kael studied her, eyes searching. “This bond… it’s more than I imagined. More than I deserved.” Lunaria met his gaze evenly. “Then stop imagining. Start proving it.”

The crossing had torn at their bones. It had not been gentle like Zephyr’s ritual—no golden haze, no steady hands guiding their souls across worlds. This time it was raw power and stolen knowledge. Fifty years of obsession compressed into a single breath. "Swish". The human realm swallowed them whole. They woke in different countries, in different beds, in different bodies. Aldric opened his eyes to silk sheets and the distant hum of city traffic. His reflection stared back at him from the mirrored ceiling—sharp jawline, dark brows, and the faint arrogance of someone who had never been denied anything in his life.

“Why? Jealous?” For a heartbeat, I wanted to say yes. I wanted to admit that I wished it were me. But I forced a smile, soft and fragile. “No, I’m happy for you.” She raised a brow, studying me like I was some insect pinned to a board. “You should be. Do you want to know who he is?” Her giggle was light, cruel. “He’s the strongest Alpha. The most handsome in the universe. Xylo Crosswind.” Her eyes hardened, and her smile vanished. She stepped closer, close enough that I could see the sharpness of her pupils. “Don’t you dare steal him away from me.”

I replied and Alicia huffed, irritated. “Fine. I will cast a spell on you and Daniel and he won’t recognise the bond between you. You must not reveal your identity to him. You must try to capture his heart in ways other than the mating bond. If you succeed in becoming Daniel’s Luna, you must think of a way to take down the evil Alpha Erick destroying his plans and involve your child’s foster parents in your lives. Oh! And you will go back as an Omega with no special powers.” Alicia announced with a smug smile and l looked at her, stunned by her last words. “What?”

“Try not to let the building keep you.” Then he turned and vanished between two passing students. Amelia looked back toward the mirrored passage. It was gone. In its place stood a plain stone wall with one small symbol carved into the surface: four crossing paths meeting at a dark center. Her mark. Or Waycross’s. She was no longer sure there was a difference.

Was it because she had nothing left and already died in her mind? The Alpha turned to leave but she grabbed his shirt and forcefully tore a part of it. Her hands, unexpectedly, had become claws successfully and her blue eyes had turned a glowing gold, with her fangs protruding. “Where do you think you’re going, you fucking murderer?” The Alpha took off his shirt and tossed it at her, “It’s yours. You can stare at it while you rot in jail, you waste of space,” he then turned to walk away. “I, Bellatrix Dankworth of Star Light pack, reject you, this scumbag of an Alpha mate, Aslan Robertson, as my mate!” she spat, causing him to stop in his tracks.
