The sound that escaped was a low, rumbling chuckle, eyes glinting as he watched her animatedly gesture at him.
“You’re blaming me for your grades?” he asked, still laughing softly, a dangerous, amused undertone threading through his voice.
“Yes!” she exclaimed, throwing her head back dramatically. “All your fault! You’re the reason my brain isn’t working!”
He shook his head, laughter spilling out now, echoing lightly in the study. The sound was warm yet teasing, and Timtim felt herself softening slightly despite her frustration. She rolled her eyes at him, trying to regain her composure, but the corners of her mouth betrayed her, tugging into a small, amused smile.
