“It was an accident,” Lydia said smoothly, cutting her off.
I looked down at my shirt. It was ruined with whatever drink she had spilled on me. It wasn’t an accident. I looked up slowly, our eyes met and she winked.
Karl stood abruptly. “You know what?” she said, grabbing her glass.
“No! Karl!” I started trying to stop her but it was too late.
She flung the water, straight at Lydia. A sharp gasp cut through the cafeteria. Water soaked through Lydia’s hair, dripping down her face, her outfit, her perfect composure. It was pure, stunned silence in the cafeteria.
