Pucking Forbidden Claim
“Hey, uh… this is the bartender from last night. Someone’s been calling about Rook?”
I straighten instantly, gripping the phone. “You saw him?”
“Yeah,” the guy mutters. “He was here late. Left with some guy.”
My blood turns cold. “What guy?” I demand.
The bartender sighs like he’s too damn tired for this conversation. “Didn’t catch a name. They were drinking all night, talking, laughing, you know, close.”
My pulse spikes. “Describe him.”
There’s a pause, before he sighs. “Dark hair, cocky little shit. Hockey player, I think. Wore number twenty-four.”
