High Pitched Noise When Blowing Nose Novels & Stories

The thought brought a little smile to my lips that was cut off when something smacked me hard in the face, knocking off my feet! I looked up to see one of Sierra's cronies with a trash can cover as she high fives her friend. Something wet made its way out of my nose and I touched it to see blood. The pain was swift at this point, accompanied by ringing sounds in my ears. They were talking, laughing even, but I couldn't make out what they were saying through the ringing sounds in my ears. I was hit in the face, how come my ears were buzzing?!

My lips twitched when I remembered what it means. My med student cousin lectured me about the so called ‘ringing in the ears’ known as tinnitus which sound like blowing, roaring, buzzing, hissing, humming, whistling, or sizzling. The noises heard can be soft or loud. The person may even think they’re hearing air escaping, water running, the inside of a seashell, or musical notes. It can happen when you are over-sensitive to a loud noise. “I have to go,” I cleared my throat and gathered my things then my unfinished milk tea.

Blood dripped onto the towel, but at least now it wasn’t choking me. He ran to the kitchen, nearly slipped. In minutes, he returned. He handed me a bag of frozen peas, and pressed it carefully against the top of my nose.

It happened because he had sensitive hearing. His ear would react to that kind of sound. He wanted to stop everyone from honking their cars but he couldn't move.

With unsteady legs, I stumble forward when my ears abruptly fill with the instant noise of everything surrounding me—amplified with velocity as its range reaches much further than it had ever managed to before. Overwhelmed by the eruption of clashing sounds hitting me without warning, I clasp my ears as they burst with pain while I try to regain control amidst the chaos ensuing within them. Focusing on the nearby repetitive drip of a broken tap somewhere upstairs, I push my way past the angry resonating echoes of the outside City and single out my audible target before hesitantly releasing my palms from my head. She leaned her back against the icy, rough surface, calming her racing heart. Her nose had swollen at the bridge, making it challenging to breathe. Every breath through her blocked nasal passages sounded like someone whistling a sad tune. Aiko's fingers gently trailed over her misshapen nose and bruised eyes. Then she put her hands on each side of her nose and cracked it back into place with a firm swift move. Tears flowed from her eyes as the pain spread across her face.
