The man's hazel eyes turned completely pitch black. Albert grinned and smiled, and an evil smile managed to make the hairs on Raphael’s necks stand upright in fear. The figure who possessed Albert's body moved from his place, patted his clothes, which were soiled with dust that had stuck to them, then tilted his head. The creature that possessed Albert walked slowly toward him. Raphael braced himself so as not to be affected by the dense black-gray aura enveloping Albert's body, clenching his fists as he silently cast a protective spell in his mind.

Jacob’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and my forehead creased as I glanced at my mate through the rearview mirror. She tilted her head away from the window, and her eyes caught mine. Her face paled, and I saw her swallow hard. "You don’t have to answer him," I told her coldly. Why the fuck was Jacob meddling here? Was he trying to charm her? Wasn’t his Luna enough for him? I heard the fucker chuckle before turning his body around to look at my mate, drawing his hand out. "Jacob. Alpha Jacob of the Black Shadow Pack. You might have not heard about me since my pack was way on the other side of this place."

Before I could respond, I heard the sound of footsteps crunching on the gravel path behind us. Next, I knew, Thorn’s voice cut through the night, sounding sharp and angry. “Get your fucking hands off her, Black.” Jacob turned slowly. He placed himself between Thorn, with his shoulders squared, and eyes hardened into steel.

~Aurora POV~ I turned back and looked at the moon. I was feeling like the moon was just in front of us. I am feeling like the moon is so close to us because it is bigger than usual. Its brightness is enough to lit up the place. Jacob stepped close while taking in the full moon's bright rays. His eye color is changing and turning into a bright yellow with a tint of red, and his canines are elongated. His nails also turned black as he can't fully shift into the wolf.

If you want to know the truth,” Jacob said calmly, as they left. ----------------------- I had another vision, it was Kelvin I saw this time. He was putting on a black jacket and a face cap. He stood in front of a red-painted chapel with a glowing blade in his hands. The sky was darkening as a blood moon emerged from the clouds. Thunder rumbled throughout the atmosphere as lightning flashed across the sky from different directions.

The corners of my lips rose and I was about to touch it, but his hand held my wrist first. I looked at him. "What? Still shy?" His jaw tightened. His eyes resembled the color of raven. Pitch black. "You won't do that in public again, Aleira," he threatened me. "I said 'didn't I, I was just teasing you. I didn't know you would have a hard time on because of that. Peace, okay?" He glared at me. "And what about that boy who added you on f******k? You'll accept him?" My forehead furrowed.

Pitch-black. The sky was almost pitch-black if it were not for the startling flashes and instantaneous streaks from the bolts of lightning that crack the eerie dark. Flickers of light revealed the foggy visibility brought by the heavy downpour of rain which seemed to know no respite. Drops of rain were like pellets showering the roof with percussion. The night was conquered with unrest as the howling wind cut through the towering trees in gusts, and with its rush, the thunder roared in resonance. Violent.

The pearlescent shine of the moon was beautiful to behold, and mystical in its power, but I often felt that the sun was underrated. “Thanks,” I whispered back with a grin. Suddenly, Jacob scampered in. He was wearing black jeans and a collared shirt, and I felt the urge to let my jaw drop. His hair was still tousled, but it looked slightly more intentional than usual. His blue eyes flashed uncomfortably as he realised everyone had turned to stare at him, and a blush rose in his cheeks. He looked cute. Wanting to relieve his embarrassment somewhat, I gave him a tiny wave. He caught my eye and grinned.

Power isn’t inherited. It’s stolen. And tonight, Jacob would steal it with his bare hands. The house was quieter now. Not peaceful, never that. But quieter. Like it was holding its breath. Even the staff spoke in hushed tones, watching Jacob with sidelong glances. It wasn’t fear they looked at him with. It was recognition. Like they’d finally realized he wasn’t a victim or a pawn. He was something else. Something sharper. Jacob was dressed in black. Not to hide. But to be seen, to stand out in a house full of ghosts.
