Jane Austen's Last Novels & Stories

Of course my day couldn't get any easier. Before I could dwell on it, a tall woman with sharp dark eyes and a neat grey blazer stepped up to the podium at the front of the hall. She tapped her pen twice against the microphone, instantly silencing the room. "Good morning, everyone," Professor Lydia Presley announced, her clear, sharp voice echoing off the high ceiling. "I apologize for the last-minute room change, but we have a heavy agenda today. We are diving straight into character motivation in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Specifically, Mr. Darcy’s infamous proposal to Elizabeth Bennet, and her sharp rejection of him."

After a moment of hesitation, she opened the door a little and peeped inside, when she saw no one, she opened it further and stepped in. Her gaze swept over the room once again, taking in its minimalist, yet elegant state. Everything was orderly, the bed was neatly made, and her eyes were drawn to the small bookshelf next to it. Curiosity got the better of her, and she found herself walking towards the bookshelf. “Jane Austen and R.L Stines,” she murmured as she ran her fingers along the spine of the books, “Interesting taste.” Her gaze landed on a picture frame wedged in between the books and her curiosity piqued further as she gently took it out.

‘’I want to speak with Luke please’’ she said into the receiver and the voice on the other end asked for her to hold for her to connect the line to Luke. A while later, Luke’s voice sounded over the line, ‘’Jane, what's the problem?’’. ‘’Mrs. Bennet just left the office. I tried to stop her though but she wouldn’t budge’’ Jane said into the phone. ‘’Did she say where she was heading to?’’ Luke asked. ‘’I strongly think that she is heading home, she is much too tired to go elsewhere’’. ‘’If she’s heading home that will be okay Jane. Thank you for keeping an eye on her for me’’ Luke said and ended the call.

When Mother gets that close, it's hard for me to concentrate on her face because it's so rough and icy, unlike any other face I've ever seen. "You will go upstairs; you will clean up and make yourself presentable, and then you will come down here and graciously receive your fiancé." "You will go upstairs and receive your fiancé graciously." I want to ask her what Jane Austen book she was reading when she said, "Receive your fiancé graciously," but she's never hit any of us before, and I don't want to be the one to break her unbeaten run.

They soon formed groups and were relishing their previous experiences of the Wells End of Year party. *** June sighed and lowered the book to her chest. She had been reading a copy of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice which she picked from the rusty shelf in the cabin. In other to keep herself busy, she had resolved to spend time with the literature but as someone who wasn’t fond of reading, she was starting to get bored after reading just seven pages. Meanwhile, she had managed to convince the woman who brings her supplies during their last encounter. When the woman saw her coming from the backyard. Pearl jested. Erik smiled. "I have no shame showing off a gorgeous woman like you on my arm." He looked into her eyes. "Are you sure you're alright." He asked. "No. But I will be. That's one thing you can be sure of. I'll always be ok." She said. "Ok isn't good enough. I want you to be happy. Incandescently happy." He said. Pearl smiled. "Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice." Pearl said.

Henry asked again, as he began to slowly lead Louisa to be able to walk closer to the car, and enter it. "Huh... I don't know how to explain and tell all the things that Jane said earlier at me to you. It feel so difficult." Louisa muttered in response as soon as she got into the car. So is Henry does the same. Louisa looked at Henry who now also returned his gaze there. “She talks quite a lot to me back then… I mean, of course I like that things. Because also there will be more and more things that I can know afterwards from her. It's just that Jane's last sentence really annoyed me until right now." Louisa then turned her gaze towards the outside of the car window.

"By the way, I asked Jane to put the gifts that you didn't open in the room where you used to live. If you want to open them, I'll take you back." Elizabeth opened the gifts for so long yesterday, and those were all fine gifts, but most of them were ornaments or paintings. After all, it was their wedding, and the guests couldn't send the gifts which only catered to one of them. "There's no need. You can deal with them by yourself. You can find time to come back, or ask Jane to open them. Now I am not as excited as I was last night, and I don't want to move anymore." "Alright, just stay at home and don't think too much."

Today is their last day. This is our last day as friends at the resort. "Friend, you're so fresh! I must have sprinkled a lot on you, right?!" Jane tempted me. Ellen followed this with laughter. I just rolled my eyes at them. "Ayieee! He was watered really hard oh. Blooming, blooming, eh". Ellen teases me. "Crazy people". We are now at Jane's cabin. Ellen and I just watched Jane as she packed her own things. We both sat on two chairs opposite the bed. We both finished packing so we hung out at Jane's cabin.
