She pretended to be shocked and asked, “Your sister-in-law? I’m afraid you have been deceived. Tessa was Mr Wentworth’s mistress five years ago and he got rid of her when his true love returned. I’m sure she’s trying to get back with him by using you. Don’t let her fool you.”

Her story is quite interesting though. She insisted it was urgent.” My stomach twisted. “Who?” I asked, though some part of me already knew. “Jane Austen.” Ella’s smooth forehead furrowed. “Jane, who's that?” My heart stumbled, then picked up speed. If there was anything I was going to commend her for, it would be her quick reaction and how sensitive she was. I was told Bronte was too extreme for eighth grade.” Tommaso gave me a nod, his forehead puckered together, a scholarly look on his face before he broke into laugher. “I have no idea what you just said.”
