THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

A woman in Japan, who had survived a surveillance state, who had started a garden to heal. Your words helped me plant, she wrote. Not flowers — hope. I wrote back: Hope is a seed. It needs soil. You've given it that. --- Celeste — my sister — published her fifth novel. A love story, set in a garden, about two women who meet late in life and learn that it's never too late to stay. It was her most successful book yet, reaching readers who had never heard of Oracle or the letters or the women who had changed everything.

The Marriage Clause

The Marriage Clause

“She’s lying! She’s Ngozi—the ruthless one. Nkechi was weak, dead.” Amara’s world fractured. Who to believe? The countdown hit 4:00. Systems worldwide were failing—planes grounding, hospitals losing power. She had to choose. Ifeanyi grabbed Ngozi’s arm. “The flower—it was a hibiscus, not from the chief’s garden. You’re Ngozi.”

A love forbidden

A love forbidden

At some point, I felt sorry for the trepadised doctors observing how frightened they wouldbecome whenever marco noticed my features contorted in pain so I did my best to mask the pain I would feel as I recieved my injections. After the doctors left, marco called a maid who had my bath prepared after which we both had dinner in my room. He had his arm wrapped around my shoulder with my petite figure hauled against his large frame. He was reading me one of the books I did not get the chance to complete before I got hit by this dreadful illness. It was tittled 'Faceless' by Amma Darko, a Ghanaian novel. I really loved the novel. It portrayed the phenomenon of the street child especially females

The Girl Who Broke the Silence

Others pretended to be busy adjusting their scarves. Then Ifeoma leaned against the wall, twirling the notebook lazily in her hand. “Looking for this?” she asked, her voice dripping with mockery. Promise’s throat tightened. “Give it back.” Ifeoma flipped through the pages, her eyes scanning sketches and rejection slips. “You really carry all this rubbish around? You think these stupid notes make you special?” She snapped the notebook shut with a sharp clap. “You’re nothing. A village girl pretending to be Lagos.”

She Belongs To The Sky

She Belongs To The Sky

The night before we leave, the night before January the sixth, I learn two things: there are two kinds of hunger, and one can keep you up all night, staring at the ceiling and missing a place and people you are yet to leave. It is two O'Clock in the morning and disconcertingly quiet when I decide that I can't endure the trashing and turning. I take a book from the shelf that will no longer be mine by evening, purple hibiscus, with the cracks on its cover and Adichie's delighted face above its blurb, and I go to the sitting room that will not be ours by evening.

Smiling In Heaven (SIH)

Smiling In Heaven (SIH)

Mirabella rolled her eyes and stretched her legs. Okay, I just want to be sure." She opened it and in there was a novel titled purple hibiscus. "Wow! Wow! wow!" She exclaimed, ecstasy written all over her face. " Purple hibiscus, I have been dying to read this book. How does he even know I like this book?" Michal expected an answer from Mirabella but none came forth, she looked at her and gave a suspicious look. " You!" She shouted and stared at her sister intently.

Nightingale ✍️
This book is awesome ? you totally killed it Author ? by the end of the first chapter I was already drawn to the world of Mirabella and Michal. I felt compelled to read more about them without feeling rushed. If a writer could achieve that then you deserve accolades. Good work Author.

I. CHOOSE. YOU (A Nigerian coming of age Novel)

I. CHOOSE. YOU (A Nigerian coming of age Novel)

I was surprised to see that apart from Victoria and Favour, Tobi and Chimdi were also in the library. "It means we don't have to go to class. Well courtesy of our dear boy Dili" Tobi hooped in and answered my question. Tobi was tall brown skin boy. He was lean but still had fats in the right places. I changed my gaze to Dili, raising a brow. Sure I knew Dili had some kind of privilege of not attending classes when he deemed it fit, but I didn't know he could also secure that privilege for us to. What kind of influence could he have in this school.

The Alpha King's Rejected Mate

The Alpha King's Rejected Mate

She nodded toward the edge of the path. I followed her look to a lush patch of brilliant pink blooms. "Yes. That's hibiscus." "It is," she confirmed. "Hibiscus is tropical. It hates the cold. And yet, here it grows, in what looks like a forgotten corner, perfectly healthy even though the night frosts are deep. You know what I name that? I call it magic." "But that isn't a revelation," I said. "They've admitted to using magic. This whole place is steeped in it. Why does this one flower surprise you so much?"

He washed his face and dried it with a towel before making it to the kitchen. His wives were in the kitchen preparing breakfast. "Ututu oma m, di m," his first wife, Adaiba, greeted him. "Good morning," he responded. His two other wives greeted him as well and he nodded in response. "Have the police found anything?" Adaiba asked. Adimchimpka shook his head, "No. Not yet. I just want to know how she found herself in Ebonyi state." "I also wonder oo," Adaiba said. "She told me that she was kidnapped," Chioma stated as she placed a plate of akara for him on the dining table in the middle of the kitchen.
