Two more guards stood at attention outside the carriage house, their expressions unreadable as Ethan and Falcone approached. Pushing open the door, Ethan stepped inside, and what greeted him was far from what he expected. The carriage house had been transformed into a rabbit haven, housing around a hundred. Adorable Holland Lops, Harlequins, tiny Hermelins, and fluffy Angoras—all were nestled in their own miniature houses. The space had been carefully designed to include a large fenced pasture that served as a communal area for the rabbits to socialize, their soft fur contrasting sharply with the hardened atmosphere outside.

It hadn't noticed me yet. My heart started pounding. This was it. My chance. But how was I supposed to catch it? Rabbits were fast. I screamed in surprise and failed to get out of the bath. I sink my body back into the water. So that whoever snuck in, he doesn't need to see me naked. I peered over the water's surface and saw three oddly shaped squirrels popping out of the window. What creatures are they? Very odd shape. Their body is the size of a squirrel, their tail is like a fox's, and their ears are long and drooping like a rabbit's. Their fur looks so soft and bulging like a hamster. I have never seen this strange beast.

Reid’s mouth watered in anticipation. A buck rabbit lifted up onto his hind legs, his nose moving frantically, his ears twitching and eyes searching. It was the signal to pounce. But 20 minutes later a large fat rabbit was tossed down at our paws, before two more were flung at the other wolves. “Better?” Ryver asked, crouching in front of us, his eyes roamed our fur and they lingered on the silver collar, his gaze hardened before he grabbed the gloves he had dropped and slipped them between our neck and the collar, relieving our pain. Nya whimpered in relief and he chuckled, “All you had to do was ask” he told her before he stood and went back to his spot.

The scent of the rabbits continues to taunt me, tempting me with the promise of nourishment. As I shut my eyes, I am immediately greeted by the rhythmic thumping and hopping sounds of rabbits. The familiar scent fills my nostrils, and I quickly realize that the alpha has generously provided me with live rabbits. With cautious excitement, I cautiously emerge from my cozy nest and take in the sight of countless rabbits scurrying around my newfound sanctuary. My heart leaps with joy, and I can't help but let out a delighted yip as I embark on the thrilling pursuit of food.

“Fuck you, Nyx.” “Oh, hush. You were always so dramatic.” Something flickers beside me. A shape that I recognize. Small and white, fading in and out of existence like rapid pulses. “Bubbles?” I whisper. The rabbit flickers into full form for a breath, her ears flattened, fur standing on end, eyes glowing faintly gold. Then she vanishes again. Nyxara rolls her eyes. “Oh, for the love of the old gods, stay still, sister. You’re giving me a headache.”
