“Can we talk?” I hesitate but step aside to unlock the door. We don’t say much as we walk in but there’s tension in the silence and I am certain it is thick with the thing simmering between us that hasn’t cooled since her bedroom. Inside the dorm, it’s dim. I flick on the small desk lamp, casting a soft gold over the room. “Roomie not home?” she asks, stepping in and looking around. “Not yet.” She gestures to my bed. “Can we sit?”

The door clicked shut behind him as he locked it, before casting me a brief, dismissive glance as though I were insignificant. “Oi! What are you doing in here? This is my room. You’ve gone into the wrong one, I said. “Wait… I recognize you. You’re the same guy who splashed mud all over me and walked away without offering a single apology,"I said . “And who the hell are you? This was supposed to be the room my mother secured for me.
