Three Months of Mourning

Three Months of Mourning

My heart sank. I gestured an apology to the manager and got up to leave. Before I even reached the first-floor reception area, I heard a shrill wailing that drew the attention of many employees. "Everyone, look! Look at this heartless man!" Sloane sat on the floor with her hair all disheveled, sobbing dramatically as tears and snot ran down her face. "My sister-in-law just died, and he's already running around with other women! He kicked our whole family out, including his sick mother-in-law! He stole our family's house and sold it for cash. He's trying to destroy us!"

Fangs of Fate

Fangs of Fate

The weight of sadness settled upon her heart, casting a shadow over her once vibrant spirit. Eva retreated to her private study, seeking solace amidst the memories that intertwined with her grief. The room, adorned with artifacts from their epic journey, held a bittersweet reminder of the battles fought and the loved ones lost along the way. Tears welled up in Eva's eyes as she clutched a treasured photograph of Uncle Sam, a cherished mentor and source of unwavering support.

LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}

LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}

I borrowed money from loan sharks and friends who probably pitied me more than they cared to admit. Then the emails stopped coming. Their office “relocated.” My books vanished. My money disappeared. And I was left drowning in debts and depression. Pretty sad, isn’t it? So there I was, choking, tears running down my face. I had thought about dying before, maybe jumping off a bridge, maybe something quicker, but I never imagined my life would end like this. They say when you’re about to die, your life flashes before your eyes. But all I could think about was the stupid book that ruined everything.

Living And Dying

Living And Dying

I uttered with my calm voice. She stood up and looked at the customers. “ I am sorry-I just...I just don't know..” She sobbed again. I tried to calm her down but it was too late when she run away while her hands covering her mouth and her eyes are still raining. I saw the book cover of the book and it made me smile- I overreacted after reading that book, too. It was not the first time-a customer crying because of a book. And everytime it happens, it's always because the dearest author killed the one of the best fictional character that never existed in real life.

Meet me Halfway

Meet me Halfway

I want to quote Hazel Grace Lancaster, the main character of the famous book The Fault in Our Stars by John Greene, when she said that "depression is the side effect of dying". Indeed it is. My aunt wasn't literally on the brink of death. But ever since Allen had died, she appeared to be so every day. I want to mention another quote I saw on the internet. It was something about being sad, and it goes, "Suicide doesn't kill people, sadness does".

Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins

Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins

Ground yourself, Lydia. There is this book Dr Sana gave me the last time I saw her. A self help book. It’s by a woman who was dealing with depression and she wrote about her therapy sessions and her thoughts. I Want to Die, But I Want to Eat Tteokbokki. Every time I read it, something settles inside me. It makes me feel like I’m not alone in the chaos of my own mind. So I picked it up from the counter where I had left it and started reading.

Honestly, I really liked the first few chapters of the book, but it seems like writers changed from somewhere around chapter 10? The writing style and thought pattern changed so drastically and it just wasn't as captivating as it was at first, so I had to drop it.

Selene: A Journey from Shadow to Light

Selene: A Journey from Shadow to Light

A book is not complete until it is read, and because of you, this story is alive. This novel is also a dedication to every person who has ever felt unseen or unheard. To those who have faced heartbreak, abuse, neglect, or loss, I hope Selene reminded you that you are not defined by your pain, but by the strength it takes to rise from it. If you saw even a small piece of yourself in her determination, her love, or her courage, then this story has fulfilled its purpose.

His mate

His mate

I laugh at the clever word play. "Can we go in there?" I plead. Jack looks to where I'm pointing, "Of course." He smiles at me. I smile super hard and stare at the adventure ahead of me. We walk in and I look at a ton of cooking books, dog calendars and more. There's a book there called, Dear Nobody. It's a true story about a girl named, Mary Rose, who has to deal with her drug addiction and boys. The book interests me. I show Jack. "Out of every book in this store, you choose the one about an addict?" Jack raises his eyebrows. I shrug.
