I was trying to build a bridge between them, one noble fact at a time. My satchel thumped gently against my side as I searched for a title I hadn’t read yet: The Council of Nine – Founding Politics and Modern Reform. Sexy stuff. Just the kind of bedtime story that might keep me and my mom alive. I rounded the corner into the historical law section and nearly collided with two women whispering between the shelves. They jumped back, blinking at me like I’d walked in on something scandalous. “Oh,” one said quickly. “Sorry. We thought no one came here.”

Or skin. I moved silently between the shelves, my fingers trailing over spines. History books. Genealogies. Accounts of the Purge that would have been burned if anyone knew they still existed. Then I found it. The Dragon Clans: A Complete History. The cover was warm to the touch. I barely had it open when a voice purred from the shadows: "Looking for something?" Hayden Moore stepped into the moonlight, twirling a knife between his fingers. His smile was all teeth.

Dawn shrugged, “well he is cute, and lovely and handsome, and strong and wise… so… why not?” Ashley shook her head, “fine done, if you win then I am going to give Rafael a day of now, let’s start.” And so race started to look for the suitable book that can answer their curiosity but after even two hours they found nothing but suddenly Dawn said, “look what I got.” Dawn came to Ashley with a smile and said, “see this…” Ashley looked at the book, “the history of the council?” “I bet there has to be a mention about vampires here.” Dawn said, this book is quiet old at least it looks like that, let’s see.”

said the Librarian as he approached Rubia “Good morning… I want to have a look at the Empire’s History books.” “Very well… Please follow me.” The librarian takes Rubia to one of the last rows of the library. * “These are the books… May I suggest a book that may amuse you, your highness…?” “Go ahead.” “This book covers the Empire’s past as a whole except for the Current Emperors past.” “I’ll go with this then.” Said Rubia as she took the book from the Librarian

He moved to the other side and picked up one of the books. "This," he said, placing it in front of me, "is the history of Nightfall Pack." The book was heavy. I opened it and saw page after page of writing. "You expect me to read all this?" "Eventually." "That's comforting." Kael ignored my sarcasm. "Understanding the pack's history matters." "Why?" "Because history explains loyalty... and grudges." That made sense. "Are there many grudges?" He gave a short nod. "More than you think."

“I… can’t Alpha. I am not allowed to—“ “I tell you what you are allowed to do and not to do. Understand? Now, seat.” He repeated and placed his book down the table, when he closed it, I saw the title of the book and it was the ‘The History 2’. I know that book since I also like reading books and I would just sneak some books from the small library of the pack house before, and that ‘The History’ was indeed a good story. Actually, I was only able to read the first book, and I could not find the second book, yet now, I saw it. The Alpha has it.

"We couldn't help but be captivated by this book. Do you know anything about it?" The bookstore owner leaned on the counter, his eyes bright with a spark of excitement. "Ah, that book holds a tale worth unraveling," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of mystery. "Legend has it that it contains the lost history of Emeridia, filled with forgotten secrets and untold adventures. Many have sought its pages, but only a few have dared to venture deep into its mysteries." Aric and Kaida exchanged a glance, their curiosity intensifying. They were drawn to the idea of unearthing the hidden history of their beloved city, of delving into the untold stories that had shaped Emeridia's destiny.

"You stop reading because it feels like work instead of escape." "Exactly," I said, relieved that he got it without me having to explain. "I keep rereading the same pages and realizing I don't remember anything I just read." He smiled. "That's why book club helps. Other people keep you accountable. I’m part of a book club actually that started out in January. It’s just a dozen people, and we read different genres every week. But it’s so nice, and it helps to keep me accountable because without it, I won’t even read anything."

The intensity of her gaze, mirrored by the others, made it clear they were curious about what had occupied my time, especially since it wasn’t a large volume. “What’s the title?” I shrugged. “History.” “History of what?” Sinclair asked, stepping closer to me, with the others following suit. I turned to the cover of the book, furrowing my brows when I saw an entirely different name in a language I didn’t know, yet somehow understood: ‘The True History of the Supernaturals and Gods.’ “How do you know it says history? The language is one we don’t know; it’s the one written on the caves,” Rachel remarked, a glint of jealousy flashing in her eyes.

He climbs back down the ladder and strides toward me with his long legs, handing the book to me. The cover is worn and faded, but I can still make out the title. “Hybrid History & Other Stories,” I say quietly, gazing at the book. I’ve never thought to look into my own history. Most people are hush when it comes to hybrids, treating us like abominations who deserve no recognition. I’m not only amazed at Robert’s willingness to teach me about this topic, but also at the fact that there is an entire book dedicated to it. “Flip through it tonight,” Robert says kindly, “and we’ll have a proper lesson tomorrow.”
