Wood Kingdom Moons Novels & Stories

And I fell, or was pulled, inside. Inside the Old Oak wasn’t wood at all. It was white. All white. Snow that never melted, falling up instead of down. Stars too close overhead. And at the center, a pool. Not water. Light. Liquid light, thick as honey, glowing. Mara stood beside me inside, but younger here, her white hair down past her ankles, her dress gone, replaced with white fur, her own. “This is where we’re made,” she said, her voice echoing like we stood in a cave. “First Wolves weren’t born. We were made here. The Moon made us when she was lonely. She took a piece of herself and put it in the Oak.”

he asked, his voice filled with concern. I nodded, taking a moment to gather my bearings as I glanced around in wonder. Before us stood a magnificent castle, bathed in the ethereal light of the moon. A grand crest depicting the moon adorned the entrance, casting a mesmerizing glow that filled me with both excitement and reverence. "The moon goddess palace," Orion explained, his voice carrying a hint of wariness. The moon goddess held a special place in werewolf culture, revered as the creator of all werewolves. She was one of the celestials of the moon. My father's lineage traced back to royalty bestowed upon them by the moon goddess herself, making this moment even more profound.

“My father isn’t here. He never was. They killed him to try and find me. I am some Blood Moon Alpha. I didn’t want this…I never wanted this. I just wanted the truth, and now that I have it, I wish I hadn’t. I can’t save myself, but maybe I can save you all. If they can’t do their ritual, werewolves live. Find their altar and destroy it, or make it so I don’t die until after the next Blood Moon. You can do it yourself for all I care. I have tried to escape, but these chains aren’t chains. I can’t explain it, and I can’t break them. I can’t shift. My wolf tries to awaken, but she just doesn’t. Save the wolves, Frank.” “Sugar, now you listen. The Blood Moon is tonight. Kael replied. “Helpful explanation.” He gave her a small smile. “They tell the story of the Twenty Moons.” Luna ran her fingers across one of the glowing carvings. The moment she touched it, a powerful wave of energy rushed through her. Her vision exploded with light. Suddenly she wasn’t standing in the stone circle anymore. She was somewhere else. A massive sky stretched above her. Twenty enormous moons filled the darkness, glowing in different colors—silver, blue, violet, gold.

Then 299,999. Then 299,998. Moons were disappearing. Not fading. Vanishing. Like someone was erasing stars. “They’re not going to the sky,” Dara whispered. “They’re going into the ground.” Under the trees, small lights flickered in the soil. Like seeds. But wrong. Cold. Suri knelt. Dug. Found one. A moon seed. White and pink twisted together. But cracked down the middle. “They’re falling,” she said. “The forest is eating the moons.”

Loid asked me in a low tone. The question was too easy. The answer was like a nursery rhyme. Kingdoms like the enchanted kingdom, dragon kingdom, Naga kingdom and lycanthrope kingdom. The import and export of all the allied kingdoms were dependent on the Crescent Moon pack. Without the Crescent Moon pack, the allied kingdoms couldn't have the kind of contact they needed to continue with their alliance. Everything was connected together and the thread that was holding it all, was the Crescent Moon
