Chapter 1

Aria touched the present that she had carefully prepared for her husband. She stroked it lovingly and spoke in a soft voice, “Mark, today marks three years since my life was tied to yours forever. In the past three years, I know that I have not been the best wife, nor have you been the best husband, but we have always found our way back to each other.”

“I don’t know how much you love me, but as for me, I know that I love you so much, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.”

“You see, when I saw you at our graduation ceremony when you were addressing us, I fell in love with you, but I never had the chance to see you again. Who would have thought that I would end up being your wife? I feel like the past three years have been a bittersweet dream for me.”

Aria went out of her way to cook her husband’s favorite dishes. Since her sister was also coming today after spending three years abroad, she also prepared a gift and her favorite dishes.

Since today marked three years after their colorful wedding, Aria felt that it would be better if she celebrated it with people who mattered to her the most.

But after setting everything up, her husband had not returned. Her sister was to come directly to their house from the airport, but had not arrived.

Aria took her phone and called her husband, but the phone was not answered. After trying the third time, she stopped.

She was well aware that her husband did not like to be disturbed once he got busy with office work.

She searched for her sister’s number and dialed it, but the phone rang without being answered.

“Strange,” Aria thought.

Looking at the time on her wrist watch, her sister must have alighted from the plane by now, so why was she not picking up?

Seeing that the time was moving really fast, Aria stopped calling and went to get ready. Maybe by the time she got ready, they would have already arrived.

Aria took a shower and donned the gown that she had bought recently. It was in Mark’s favorite color, and even the design was Mark’s favorite.

Well, since today was their wedding anniversary, she just wanted to make her husband happy.

Aria waited at the dinner table, but even when it was past 9 in the evening, neither Mark nor Talia was anywhere to be seen.

Their phones had also been switched off, and Aria wondered what could be happening.

Having run out of patience, Emmy took out her phone and called Mark’s assistant, “David, where is your boss?”

“Ma’am, has the boss not reached home yet?”

“Not yet. Today is our wedding anniversary, and I thought that he would come home early, but I have been waiting to no avail.”

David pondered over the phone before he spoke, “Well, Ma’am, I have already left the office. I wanted to drop the boss home, but he said that he had some urgent work to deal with. Maybe he is still at the office.”

“Hmm, I see.” Aria nodded, but David could not miss the hint of disappointment in her voice.

Although he was tired and had already slept, he still chose to say, “Ma’am, if you want, I can go to the company and bring your husband home.”

“David, I know that you were already asleep. I am sorry for disrupting your rest. You don’t have to worry, I will go to the company and bring my husband home.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Absolutely.”

“Okay, ma’am. But in case of anything, don’t hesitate to call.”

“Yes, thank you.”

Aria did not change out of her evening gown. She took her car keys and headed towards the door.

The moment she sat in the driver’s seat, her heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly had a foreboding feeling. But she did not dwell on it much. She started the car and headed towards the Thompson Group of Companies.

When Aria arrived at the company, it was pretty much deserted. The only people who could be seen were security guards making rounds at the company.

When they saw Aria, they quickly stopped her. “Ma’am, why are you here so late at night?”

“Well, I am here to fetch my husband. I cannot get through to his phone, so I had to personally come.”

Hearing that, the security guys hesitated, “Well, Ma’am, you…”

“What is it? Is my husband not at the company?”

“I… that is not what I meant. I…”

Aria waved her hand, “Don’t mind me. I will get going.”

Seeing Aria enter the elevator with her silly smile, the security guards shook their heads, “Could we have told her the truth?”

“I don’t think that she might have believed us. They say that seeing is believing, so let her see it with her own eyes.”

In between her excitement, Aria rode the elevator to the highest floor. This was not the first time she had visited Mark in his office, so she was well aware which floor his office was located on.

When she got out of the elevator, she only had to walk a few steps before she reached the CEO’s office. But when she reached the door, she realized that it was slightly open.

Mark was not one to leave his door open when he was working. Or maybe he had left it open because it was already late at night, and no one was at the office.

Aria did not want to startle him, so she tiptoed towards the door. She placed her hand on the door handle, and just as she was about to push the door open, some ambiguous noise came out of the office, making her pause.

“Ah… hmm… gosh… harder… deeper… right there… don’t stop… ah… I love how big you are.”

Aria halted in her steps. Her heart started to thump hard in her chest, and she felt as if she was getting short of breath.

Wait, what exactly was going on? This was her husband’s office, for God’s sake. Who would dare misbehave there?

And if she heard right, that voice was very familiar. It was Talia’s voice.

What was Talia doing in Mark’s office, and given how hard and fast she was moaning, it looked like she was in the middle of being fuc*ed.

Aria had so many questions on her mind, and just as she was about to confront the people who were in the office for their shameful act, she heard a man’s voice that she was too familiar with.

“I see that three years of being abroad have really turned you into a bad girl. You have become sweeter and tighter than the last time we fucked.”

It was Mark’s voice.

These two… Aria felt the ground beneath her tremble. Her world came crashing down like a terrible storm.

But her legs refused to budge. Neither did they want to go to the office, nor did they want to leave. She stood rooted to the ground like a tree.

After what seemed like forever, and realizing that these two would probably be having fun the whole night, Aria made up her mind.

She slowly raised her hand and wiped the tears that had freely flown down her face. She took in a few deep breaths, straightened her dress, and weakly knocked on the door.

But the people in the room were too engrossed in their adulterous act that they did not hear her knock.

“Clap, clap, clap, clap.”

Aria clapped her hands as she made her way into the office.

Mark, who had been on the verge of ejaculating, felt as if someone had slapped him hard across the face. He flinched, and his white residue was deposited on Talia’s belly.

He did not have time to clean up as he turned around and roared angrily, “Who is it? Don’t you know that this is a private office, and you should knock before entering?”

He was about to continue berating the person, but when he saw the person standing in front of him, he felt his soul leave his body.

“Aria… you…” He stammered, “What… the… what the hell are you doing here?”

He… he never expected Aria to catch them like that.

Talia, who was still sprawled on the table, felt her heart skip a beat when she heard Aria’s name. But it was only for a split second before her face cracked into a mocking smile.

Finally, that bitch has found out.
