*Elijah* I’m running through the wild, overgrown garden around my house. ‘Garden’ might be the wrong word; it’s more like a park, with a winding trail that meanders through small patches of trees and lush plants. I pick up my pace, pushing my insecurities aside and repeating my mantra in my head: ‘You are good enough, you are worthy, you are loved.’ I’ve never been much of a runner, but I’ve realized it helps clear my mind and gives me a new way to relieve pressure.

Damn it. Inspecting my surroundings and holding back the urge to throw up, I couldn’t see anyone approaching, but as the thudding steps came closer, the pattern of thuds was uneven.
