Trunk or treat. They were having trunk or treat in their field. "Scarlett?" Benji called out. "What are you doing here?" She turned. Benji and Garth stood at the bottom stairs leading to their house. Someone had decorated both their porches in pumpkins, scarecrows and lights. Behind them kids darted around the trees, playing tag and dressed up. Where was the wedding? She set her gaze on the barn doors and all the light shining out and started to walk.

“Callum.” She stared at it. Then back at him. “I didn’t come here to be saved.” His smile didn’t waver. “Good. I’m not the saving kind.” She let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. “You ever burn a Bible, Callum?” He raised an eyebrow. “Pages, yes. Covers take longer.” Eden’s laugh was unexpected. From the belly. From somewhere older than her pain. “I’ve got one in my trunk,” she said. “Leather-bound. Stained in all the right places.”

Shirley's POV The supermarket was filled with the scent of pine-scented candles, artificial snowflakes taped to every glass pane, and endless rows of Christmas-themed everything. Abby tugged on my coat, pointing excitedly at the peppermint bark display. "Can we get this for William?" she asked. "He gave me marshmallows last time." I smiled and nodded. "Of course."

The decorations were up and it was really something really spooky and scary. Raven then decided to drop a message in their grout where Caleb, Jake,Jane, Zendaya and Stella were.
