Every species that endures learns to dream collectively before it dies alone. The light swelled, flooding her senses. Images flashed — forests regrowing overnight, oceans calming, children learning without schools, music made of pulse and breath. Lumen’s voice grew tender. We do not replace you, Sophia. We become your echo. She smiled faintly, tears like starlight trailing down her cheeks. “Then echo this — keep them free.” Freedom is resonance without fear, it answered. And you are its first note. --- Ottawa — Reality Reemerging

Then, a rasping voice, laced with a hint of madness, emerged from the darkness beneath the hood. "I… I was a scholar," it croaked, "driven by a thirst for knowledge forbidden. Now, I am… trapped, consumed by the whispers." A wave of empathy washed over Maya, the tracker known for her keen senses and compassionate nature. "We can help you," she offered cautiously, "but you have to let go of the book." The figure clutched the book tighter, its knuckles turning white. "The power… it promises freedom," it rasped, the whispers intertwining with its words. "Freedom from pain, from fear… from everything."

FRIEDA’S POV I looked at the piece of paper in my hand. It may lie the answers to my freedom. FREEDOM. I’ve dreamt of it, but that’s all it’s ever been. Nothing but a mere dream. Or it could also sink me deeper into the bottom of the ocean. I should run away. Garrett warned me. If I wait too long, then there may not be a me to save anymore. But I’m so scared. So terrified. Anytime I think of Michael, the look on his face, his scary voice, his monster masculine physique…

Thank you so much. After chatting with my fantastic editor Sherry, we have decided to combine all of the three books in the series into one book here on GoodNovel. Book One, When Dreams Become Reality, is now completed. After you have read the author’s note, the next chapter will be the start of Book Two, Tanner’s Unrelenting Soul. If you have already purchased chapter’s on Tanner’s Unrelenting Soul, I am here to advise you to skip to the chapter that you are currently on. Finally, I feel myself drifting off to sleep, hoping and praying that tomorrow will bring more options for freedom. I dream of bears and wolves, running together, chasing each other, bounding up over hills and valleys in formation. I dream of great battles, wolves and bears on the same side, then fighting one another. I dream of confusion, of tangled stories, of the chipping, grinding, carving of stones.

“I have no interest in binding you to either man. I want you free.” The word echoed—free? Rico had never really thought about freedom. He had thought about safety, maybe even comfort, but never freedom. Freedom was something children in the streets of his memory whispered about but never tasted. Freedom was a dream in the distance, a story told around fires. “Free…” he mouthed. “Yes,” the voice murmured. “But to be free, you must live long enough to choose. And right now, you are fading, Rico. Hunger is clawing at you. Thirst is breaking you. Soon, your body will decide for you.”

My dreams become a realm of impossible freedoms, a contrast so stark against my reality that my heart aches. Yet even within those dreams, I’m running—running towards something elusive and undefined, something terrifying and beautiful. Freedom, maybe, or maybe just the illusion of it. But as my dream self breaks through the final line of trees and stares at the open sky, I know one thing for sure: I can’t stay caged any longer. And with that sobering thought, I drift into a restless sleep, caught between the world I know and the world I yearn for.

KLH
Thoroughly enjoyed the whirlwind that was Roman and Aella! As always, so beautifully written, flowed well, full of twists and turns that’ll keep you on your toes. This author truly never misses, which is one of the many reasons they’re one of my favorites on here. Excited for what’s to come :)

I thought I had a favorite J. Tarr book but I was way wrong! This book is so beautiful and it’s not even finished. The characters emotions are so poetically deep and raw that you feel everything with them. It’s hard to say who I like more because the more you delve into each the harder you fall.

Another wave of silence swept away the words from the room leaving nothing but the sound of my shallow breaths. "What will I get?" He walked towards the bookshelf taking his time, "What you wanted the most....your freedom." I licked my dry bottom lip. Was it one of his games? But more importantly, was I willing to play? "What are you talking about?" He removed a book from the second row and opened it, "You will get your old life back. You can achieve everything you wanted to and this will just be like a dream for you "
