ECLIPSE BORN
It just existed.
“Edna said you’d be up here,” he said softly.
“I needed air,” I replied. “And distance.”
He hummed faintly in understanding. “You recently do.”
That made me smile.
He stepped closer now, resting his forearms on the railing beside mine. For a moment, we stood shoulder to shoulder without speaking, watching the city wake. Workers already moved through the lower streets, hauling stone, lifting beams, rebuilding with quiet determination.
“They’re calling my reign the Eclipse Reign,” Liam said after a while. “Some of the elders. They think giving it a name makes it easier to understand.”
