They sway even though there’s no wind. “Hallow’s Edge goes all out for Halloween,” Ms. Carter says cheerfully. “Biggest festival in the county. You’ll be here just in time.”

Where are your parents?” “I am not a child!” His offensive tone had a tinge of growl in it, it was simply indescribable to explain the tsunami of joy that was shaking my world. “I am Eddie Campbell, and I am here to surprise my mommy. Carl’s voice came from behind, startling me, but as I looked further ahead, I saw a familiar silhouette of a man leaning up against a fallen tree. Why was Eddie here and not with Jules? I gulped as he pried himself from the tree and stepped into the moonlight. Eddie menacingly cracked his knuckles and stretched his neck. The pale light of the moon had done nothing to soften his appearance; if anything, it made him look more demented and creepy.

Alexander’s Perspective Eddy showed up past midnight, the crunch of gravel under his boots giving him away before he even knocked. I didn’t bother looking up until he dropped onto the couch opposite me, stretching like he owned the place. “She’s home,” he said after a moment, voice casual. “Delivered safe and sound, just like you asked. Pressing the answer button Eddy tucked the phone on his ear, “hello!” Suddenly Eva cried out in a scared tone, "Ed, there is someone in our house. He is trying to kill me Ed, save me, save me, Ed." “What? What are you talking about, Ev…” Eddy was trying to have the conversation but the call got disconnected. Chills ran through his body and he was in great panic. He dialed Eva’s number again but she didn't pick.

I hurriedly said, “Are you Tommy Spark’s mother? We’re trapped in the haunted house at Little Tots Amusement Park. “Your son is having an attack! Send someone immediately to open the door!” The silence held for three seconds. Then, uncontrollable laughter erupted through the phone. “Hahaha! So the news about the haunted house got around fast, huh? “You knew someone was trapped in there just now.”

“I know. Fine. I need to get ready to open the shop. I’ll put on the kettle and start breakfast. You get ready for the day and come down.” “As long as I don’t still have snow in my pants.” They both smiled at that. “At least this thing is creative in its pranks. Are you sure it’s not one of the fair folk?” “I can communicate with them. But not with whatever this is, and it feels dark. Nothing like the spirits in your dolls.” Eddie got out of bed and closed the door to the bathroom behind him. Hailey left the bedroom. “Bad wee ghostie. You’re in trouble now.”

Halloway barked, clapping her hands. Suddenly, the heavy double doors swung open. It was him. Eddie. He walked into the hall. He wasn't dressed in athletic gear or a casual robe today. He was wearing a sharp, tailored black suit that made him look like a lethal king. His cold, blue eyes swept over the room, ignoring everyone until they landed directly on me. He held my gaze, his jaw tightening. "Master Eddie," Mrs. Halloway said, bowing quickly. "What can we do for you? Is there a problem with your suite?"

I mumbled as I stretched my back and looked toward the subtle smile on Edward's face. "Just a few minutes, we only just pulled up." He gestured to my house where all of the lights sat off in the early creeping darkness that was late October. I looked at the time and saw it was already 9pm, Halloween was only in a few hours and so was the Halloween bash. "So are you going to the dance?" I asked nervously, fighting off the sleepy tendrils that wanted me to melt back into the oddly comfortable seat of the car. "I wasn't set on a decision." Edward said, already knowing what I was going to ask.
