Emerson POV The words sliced through the murmurs around me. They weren’t the worst ones. “Don’t look at her,” someone whispered urgently, too close to my ear. “Snake-eyes bring bad luck.” Another voice followed, lower, fearful. “That’s why the Alpha hates her. You don’t stare at things like that and survive.” My stomach twisted. Several pack members turned, their glares sharpening. Some looked away quickly, like my eyes might infect them if they lingered too long. One of them bared his fangs and lunged forward, his steps heavy and deliberate.

“You’re sure no shifters had this mark?” He gave a single nod. I studied the tattoo—a serpent coiled through a three-headed skull, each skull bearing the distinct features of a mamba, a cobra, and a viper. A flicker of recognition stirred in my memory, but I couldn’t place it. Pulling out my phone, I snapped a picture. “I’ve seen this before—just can’t remember where. I’ll dig into it from my office. Thanks, Doc.” He acknowledged me with another nod before sliding the body back into its cold drawer.

Xander snarls, rejecting her explanation, too angry to see beyond it. “The Order of Three, but those that know about it call it the order.” She unzips her jacket, and her friends match her movements, moving in unison. Together, they pull their collar away from their necks, revealing a tattoo where a mate mark should sit. A triple moon is etched into the skin with black ink. The center moon has a key and arrow crossed with a paw sitting in the center, holding the components in place.

She was surely set out to punish me. A few minutes after my mate eft the room, I found my way to the bathroom, staring at myself in the mirror. I knew everything about me was different. A huge dark tattoo had appeared on my chest. It was a tattoo of a male in a cage and a female staring at the figure in the cage. Without being told, I was able to decipher the meaning. My freedom was gone. I was the male figure in the cage, the cage was prison set by the moon goddess, the female was my mate, my salvation.

All of them had a silver hue, yet it was clear that they were not crafted from actual silver. One had a small ruby, another had elegant cursive inscriptions, and another had delicate floral etchings. I couldn't help but admire the intricate artwork that adorned his arm, from his fingers all the way up to his wrist. "What is the significance of this?" I gently ran my fingers over one of the intricate tattoos on his arm. The elegant script, adorned with delicate vines, roses, and lotus flowers, intrigued me, even though I couldn't decipher the Greek letters.

Mandy excitedly jumped, wanting me to show them my new mark. Giggling, I moved my hair aside, showing off my new mark, making everyone looking at it in admiration. Marcus looked proud as he showed the exact same mark I had on his shoulder, a mark showing a black wolf standing on a rock above the ocean with a mermaid rising from the ocean as they were wrapped in the big white moon shining above them. "O, my Goddess. It is beautiful." Lizzy said, not being able to stop looking at my mark. "Well, it was about time you two." Damon said, slapping Marcus on his back, "But my warning stays, hurt her and you will experience my rage."

Thats my girl, Meda is so like me it's ridiculous. I go outside and take my clothes off once I reach the tree line, I hate shifting in clothes, I am cheap and don't like spending money if I have perfectly fine stuff already. I fall back and let Meda take control, it's not painful anymore, thank goodness. Once shifted she immediatley takes off sprinting, Meda loves to run, I enjoy it as well, its a feeling of freedom we both get as the wind blows through her fur, like we could just fly away and go where our hearts desire. A weird date crossed my mind, I closed my eyes and typed the date of Layana's heart surgery and the date of birth of her nephew, I closed my eyes expecting it to decline but it opened, and my mouth hung right open. How this Layana's surgery connect to this card, anyway I have to watch it to find out. The card had so many files, I opened the first file, it was a video of Violet getting a Medusa tattoo on his wrist, but I had never seen a tattoo on her wrist.

She could never have imagined that the brushes in front of her had been intended for guests. When the fog faded from the mirror, she opened her eyes and swore at her reflection. She could see the red and purple marks of the hickeys he had given her on her chest and neck. Then she put a trembling hand at the base of her neck. A kind of black tattoo had taken shape there. Three parts stood out. At the top stands the head of a black wolf baring its fangs. Then, behind the head of the animal, a crescent moon was drawn. And finally, just under the wolf's mouth, two elegantly intertwined letters: M.B.

But now I became hesitant even though I was excited in the forest. Seeing my hesitation, Evelyn sucked on my waist. "Step up; Alpha is waiting for you." Done, she pulled up her sleeve to reveal a tattoo. "My tattoo is here." This is the first time I've seen it at such a close distance. It's a very delicate tattoo. The symbol of the Black Moon, surrounded by a black moon, in the center is an image of a mighty black wolf sitting with its back to the moon. It's haughtily, as soon as I saw it, I loved it.
