"What about this, Uncle. Do you think this is the one?" The "Uncle" gave Chu Xun a back full of goosebumps. "Zombies." Chu Xun stared at the ugly monster with long razor-like fangs. Towering at several meters taller than humans, the monster, in a hide of deep purplish-green, looked like a lumbering stone monolith, its abnormally-long and gaunt arms growing nails as sharp as daggers. "It really looks like zombies, if my guess is correct," said Chu Xun.

Seeing Nicholas' gaze shift to the top of the counter, she leaned in to check. It was a rat. Its outline wasn't so solid and distinct and she could have sworn it was a ghost rat. Holding Nicholas' left arm, she eyed the rat and asked "Nicholas, is this what I think it is?" "It might be, depending on what you are thinking." Geneva was sure he was replying just for the sake of it. She pursed her lips and eyed him too. It definitely was a ghost rat. She had two ghosts in her house! One was annoying her everyday and the other one was breaking her China wares!

No way to block the entrance. Her chest tightened when a shadow fell over the opening. Then another. And another. Taffy’s breath hitched as the pale faces of the ghouls slowly appeared above the mouth of the burrow, peering down at them. Their heads tilted in unnatural jerks. Their jaws twitched. Strings of black saliva dripped from their teeth and pattered onto the dirt beside her. She clamped both hands over her mouth to keep from screaming. Their eyes found her. Empty.

Its nose was an empty hole in the front of its face and there was nothing to hide the dozens of thin razor-sharp fangs jutting from its top and bottom jaw where blood and viscera dripped. Its short ears flattened along the top of its head as it watched the king approach. The ghoulcat crouched to the ground and my breath caught in my throat as a slash of silver arched through the air in its direction. A sharp shriek hissed from the monster as it lurched back from the attack.

But the scaly, black ghouls that followed her had me shrinking back against the cinder block wall. “We’re going to have a little fun. If you comply, I will consider sparing your family. If you don’t, I’ll make you watch while I kill them slowly.” The monster cackled. “What do you want?” Kat screamed at him. “I want to see the pathetic excuse for a wolf your goddess thought could defeat me. I want you to show me what you can do. Let your Goddess watch while I break you until she never dares create another special wolf again.” He told her followed by a malicious laugh.

BOOM! It was a taunting sound that only seemed to grow louder his eyes were straining to see through the ever-growing and changing darkness. It was growing dark faster to thick and heavy for him to see clearly. To think that it was only 4 pm, Jake knew with fall and winter approaching they would be getting less and less sunlight and that worried him greatly. He did not know why he never believed in monsters and ghouls but now lost in the dark with that pounding echoing in his ears.
