Soon after the ghouls passed, a few minutes later, she heard coherent voices speaking as they drew close.

Neither did it sound like that of a wolf either.

Hair, long and filthy, braided so tight it made their faces even more horrifying. From their ears hung thick black hoops. From their wrists and ankles, blue bracelets with gold incriptions glowed faintly. Adem’s voice shook. “What the hell are those things—” “Ghouls,” Aziz spat. “Cursed forever for eating human flesh. Don’t wait. Kill them before they reach you!” “They don’t actually… eat people?.” I said in disbelief. I waited for someone to correct me. When no body did, my stomach dropped.
