I stare down at my tray. “Nothing.” She groans. “That’s never a good sign.” She’s right. Because that’s exactly the problem. Nothing happened. No fight. No argument. No misunderstanding. Just… nothing. No texts. No smiles. No conversations. No Beckett. I lower my voice. “He barely looked at me today.” Her expression immediately changes. “What?” I shrug. Trying to act like I don’t care. Failing. Miserably. The embarrassment burns. Because saying it out loud makes me sound ridiculous.

Key POV Feel better? I don't know, I still have mixed feelings right now. I held back my tears that still wanted to flow freely after the court and business were over. I sat on a bench in a city park that wasn't crowded. Apart from that, it was still noon, people would also definitely feel busy with their families. Enjoy a day off for some workers. JASQUIRE I had to do it today. I waited all day to do this. It had to be now. There was no more putting it off. I would have done it yesterday if it wasn’t for Belle. She always got on my nerves. Today was the day. I stood motionless in the middle of the kitchen, scanning it as I tried to gather my thoughts. I took a breath. Then another. My fingers curled slightly at my sides. "I am alright. What about you? I did not see you during lunch today." Caden made a noise. "I wanted to join, but Liam tasked me with extra work in the ground today. Anyways I am glad that you are back early." I tried not to wince at the reason Aiden and I rushed out of there. Suppressing the memory in the back of my head, I met Caden's eyes. "Hmm, I would rather not talk about it." "Then let's talk about the most unbelievable thing to happen today!" My brow cocked at that. "What would that be?"

Tomorrow, let's see if everything goes back to normal, I thought to myself as I drifted off to sleep . The next morning, The day had been long and boring without anything interesting happening. I was already dreading the science fair and its presentation today. As much as i try to be a cool kid, science isn't really my thing. I mean come on, who likes to make their own experiments?
