I Just Can't Wait To Be King Song Lyrics Novels & Stories

“Some years from now you will be ruling over this kingdom, I have no doubt that you will make a great king.” The rain pouring filled the silence that followed before he spoke, his voice was firm, and I knew he meant every word. “But what if I would rather not be the next king?” He asked, glancing sideways, his towering figure looking down at me with desperate determination. “I don’t want to be a king. I’d rather go somewhere with you and live happily ever after, that’s what being a blue-blooded means, right? Having the freedom and will to do anything and get away with it.”

But it was all for Lisa. I stood outside of the king's private living room. With a sweaty palm, I slightly tapped on the gigantic doors. I didn't get a response. I knocked again, this time a little bit louder. "Come in." I heard his strong honey like voice say. Taking in a deep breath, I opened the door and stepped in. I stared at the floor, not daring to look up. "Y-your highness, may I have a word?" My legs were trembling and I didn't know why.

I say my voice is breaking. “Then let’s go! We will find Cassian later!” he growls, his chest heaving as I shake my head. “I can’t!” “Why not!” “Because you will be king!” I growl, my chest rising and falling as tears fill my eyes. It’s selfish, but I don’t care. “You can’t be king! You can never be king!”

All of a sudden I am being pushed up against the narrow door frame. “We don’t have time.” I moan through the mind-link, my actual protest sounding half hearted. “We are the King and Queen, they’ll have to wait.”

The ten of us spread across the hall stage. Somehow I ended up being in the center. I always enjoyed the haunting nature of this song. It is both seductive and terrifying. I again feel an intense gaze burning into my skin. I feel completely exposed and on display even if my dress is exceptionally modest. The slow and steady beat of the drum begins to pound. “Go on, Go on and break my heart. Go on, Go on and break my heart. I am not worthy of your heart my king” the singer’ sorrowfully croon.

“You good over there?” She took a sip. “I’m fine.” “That wasn’t the question.” She rolled her eyes. “I don’t love loud storms.” “I know.” The quiet certainty in his voice made her throat tighten unexpectedly. Her phone buzzed, then buzzed again—the building group chat lighting up: Patel (Super): Severe weather alert. Everyone stay inside. DO NOT use stairwells. 3F: anyone else’s balcony trying to detach itself 5A: power flickering on west side

"Have you decided? If you establish a mate bond with me, you won't be able to divorce me. Till death do us part." I held his hand and kissed him softly. "Trust me. With me here, death won't be on the table. You'll become an Alpha King, and I, your Luna Queen."

“I never thought they would dare step into my kingdom. But now that I know what they want…” He paused, his voice dropping into something cold and powerful. “I can’t wait to see them” ********

In honor of their argument, I began singing. "The king of my heart must be strong and brave and kind. The king of my heart should not be like the king of the Lycans. Because that king terrible and only wants my body. He only want my body, my body, my body. The king of Lycans is bad, bad, bad, bad—" "Princess!" A deep sharp voice said, and the entire clearing became silent in an instant. I glanced at the soldiers in front of me, looking for which one of them interrupted my song.

And I’m coming. Let your king prepare. Let the Goddess watch. Because I will reclaim what was torn from me. And this time, no one will stand in my way.
