"I missed that about you." Behind me, Jeff shifted, his presence a silent warning. Nolan’s gaze flicked to him, assessing. "Ah. You must be Jeff." Jeff didn’t offer a hand. "You must be leaving." Nolan laughed, unfazed. "I’m here to help." He pushed a file across the table. "The Consortium’s not dead. They’ve just gone deeper underground. And they’ve got a new target." I opened the file. My breath caught. It was a blueprint of a blacksite. And a list of names—scientists, financiers, mercenaries. All working on something called Project Phoenix.

Dad grabbed the nurse, throwing her out of the room alongside himself. "Well-done, Emily, you have accomplished your mission." A sinister scent emerged, a wicked laugh echoing across the room. The once blue sky was now a mixture of black and white with the moon reflecting its radiant image. Wails filled the air as a ray of light fell from the sky, hitting a mountain on the other side of town. I groaned, wincing as my hand was scorched by the flaming book. The pages settled, words in red appearing on the pages. "Strigoi, Nosferatu, Jiangshi…"

Surprisingly, the boss put the fake names instead of the real ones, probably for a matter of extreme privacy. “Found it,” I whisper when I find one under the name of Black Tiger. I take a long breath and open it with shaky hands. Part of me feels bad because I’m not respecting his privacy and another part wants to know everything in order to unravel the mystery. The contents of the file surprise me. William is a smart man indeed. He resumed everything in four simple and short lines, not giving anyone the chance to know about the agent. "Yes he has, Ibekwe. Be strong and have faith." James shuffled towards the door. "James!" "Yes, Ibekwe." "What will you call your new book?" "I thought of a simple but strong name. I will call it: Shading Black: The trilogy of an African village. The name fits it." "James!" Ibekwe called again. "Yes, Ibekwe." "The name of your book is perfect. Thank you for everything." James kept quiet. He raised his hands and wiped the tears in his eyes. "Goodbye, Ibekwe," he said.

We proceeded through it, following a paved road that was dark from large, low hanging branches from tall thick spruce trees. The driver proceeded slowly with his headlights now on, as Reggie and I tried to see out the windows. The van had become totally black and all we could make out was the dark pavement ahead of the van. I gave up trying to see anything as the sound of yips and barks filled the dark silence. There was at least a dozen of them, wolves coming up and running back and forth in front of the van. The headlights glimmered off their coats showing different colors on each one.

At that moment, in Village Pott, Jagger was being scolded by his father. He faked an order from his father and dispatched a team from the Avian Troops for his personal matters. It was nothing major at first. After all, as the younger chief, Jagger was the village chief’s favorite son. However, the team reported that they lost one of the Blackwings. They had no idea if it was still alive. A Blackwing was very important as it needed a lot of price and effort to domesticate one. Moreover, there were not even a hundred of them in Village Pott.

Park immediately complained without even opening his eyes. “Good,” Ethan replied mockingly. “You were supposed to.” Park scoffed. “I’m working too, okay?” he defended himself lazily. “I’m protecting your ass and your precious baby girl.” “You can do far more than that,” Ethan curtly replied. “You should feel ashamed in front of Pete.” Park finally opened one eye before mumbling seriously, “Pete already owns half my fortune anyway.” That instantly made Ethan look up. Pete sighed before confirming calmly, “He transferred half of his assets under my name.”

Iolaire bursts out laughing and clinks her glass with mine, “Well said!” Whiro steps up to me, his already large nostrils flaring even wider. He flexes his overcompensatingly large muscles as they strain against his shirt. A black long-sleeve button-down with a gold tribal design over the left shoulder and down the left sleeve, paired with gold and black brocade pants. It actually compliments his otherwise beige-looking skin quite nicely. As he leans in closer, attempting to tower over me I can see a hint of the tribal tattoos on his body through the opening of his shirt. When they saw that, they chased after him, bullets were constantly shooting at them. Suddenly a man with long iron claws rushed at them, behind Raph Conrad suddenly sprouted black wings. The two sides rushed to fight, with his skill and fighting body Raph Conrad very quickly defeated that guy. Watching them chase Raph Conrad hugged Bella Risa and ran. Raph Conrad couldn't levitate, because if he did, it would be easy to spot.
