It was enormous and emitted a warm glow. Something inside me called to it. Closing my eyes in contentment, I stood there under its power and let its magic absorb into my skin. Then the sound of soft tinkling caught my attention.

“Scout's honor. I just… I need a few minutes to process everything that's happened.” It took extracting about fifty promises that I would call for them if I needed anything, but they finally left. As soon as the door clicked shut behind them, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, instinctively reaching for that meditative state I somehow knew I needed to access.
