The room went dead quiet when I said I would take the prize, but that quiet did not last. A second later, laughter thundered through the air. Lily Smith was the loudest, doubling over with tears streaming from her eyes. "How else could she be the top seller?" she cackled. "A woman like her has to have skin as thick as a rhino." I ignored her snide comments and kept my cool. "Just to be clear," I said, "since the company so generously 'rewarded' me with bathroom duty, that's all I'll be doing for the next three days. Everything else is off my plate."

I kiss his back instead. "Nah, I think you grew shorter last night" I gasp, pretending to be offended. "I'm tall, I'm not just tall enough to kiss a giant like you on the forehead" "Giant?" he chuckles and turns around facing me. "What other new mame are you going to give me" "Well I have many others, like bricky, as in you're tough like a brick" I laugh alone at my joke "Or boo boo bear, I think I watched that in a cartoon"

The large man signaled to the servant that stood below the dais to serve the tall figure who sat beside him. Just like his brother, this man had an impressive height. Though he was seated, he looked to be about six feet six inches tall. However, unlike his brother, he had a lanky figure. There were no signs of any large muscles underneath his robes and he did not look like much of a fighter. The help stumbled onto the podium, obviously drunk, to pour out some wine into the cup of the tall man. Pushing the jug of mead aside, the lanky figure shooed the sorry excuse for a wine boy away.

"Alright, fine. If you won't smile, I'll have to tell you my top-tier jokes. What do you call a fake noodle?" Elena had blinked, her stern frown flickering for a split second. "What?" "An impasta." She had stared at me in absolute, stony silence for three whole seconds. "That is terrible. That is the worst joke I've ever heard." "Okay, okay, tough crowd," I had grinned, my dark eyes sparkling with wicked delight as I stroked her cheek. "Why don't scientists trust atoms?" "Jaxx, please stop…" "Because they make up everything."

His hair wasn't that dark, though, more brownish than hers. "Oh. Thank you." Jessi smiled at the guy and had to tilt her chin up this time just to meet his gaze. He looked taller than six feet, her former boss' height. Ugh. Why did it have to remind her of that corporate scum again? "That's all you're gonna be having for lunch?" Tall Guy asked. It didn't look like he was on his way towards the beverages section. Jessi almost made a face at his question—not because it sounded rude, but because his smile grew wider. It held her attention as much as she found his pale green eyes interesting. A little bit...hypnotizing.

I answered him back making him regret his joke. He knotted his brows as I uttered and shook his head. "You can never take my jokes, Can you? You are a boring man. Everyone in my agency loves my joke and burst into laughter, especially girls. But you my friend don't even try to smile at them." He started with his complaint first before he disclose the matter he was mentioning before. "So what? It's my choice whether I want to laugh or not. Plus your jokes are not funny. Girls laugh at your jokes cause your money makes them laugh. Otherwise, you would have been the king of bad jokes." I said, resting my ass on the maroon couch.

I told him and left my cabin. Max also started following me. I was going towards the lift when my eyes fell on a group of people. They were talking to each other instead of working. Anger rose in me. I walked towards them and heard them creating some useless jokes and laughing their ass off. "I didn't know my employees can create these useless jokes in work time. Do I give you payment for creating fucking jokes?" I shouted at them. "We are very sorry Mr. Knight. We will not do this again" One of them told me.

- I caught his attention as I made a joke with my totally serious expression. But I had to agree, Ethan was a big man, my height was at least one-sixty, I couldn't hit the top of my head on his shoulder, he was probably between one-eighty, to one-ninety, I didn't know exactly how tall, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more.

“You know, Ruby, we learned a joke yesterday. Want to hear it?” I nod eagerly, intrigued by the joke that has captured their attention. “Alright,” Ethan begins, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Why don’t grumpy people like corn on the cob?” Playing along, I pretend to ponder the question. “Hmm, I’m not sure. Why don’t they?” “Because they think it’s ‘a-maize-ing’ that anyone could be happy!” Ethan bursts into laughter, and soon, the infectious giggles spread throughout the room.

An old man with a long beard said and handed me an apple too. “They’re a coward as ever!!” The other men replied and they laughed crazily while drinking their cup of beer. They keep laughing and some of them tell some jokes too so their laughter doesn’t end. I couldn’t help myself but laugh alongside them while hearing the joke they said. “What do you think the baby cow said when he got lost?” Jean asked. One of the men. “What?” We answered in unison. “Maa!!” He said like a cow and even acted like one too made everyone start laughing crazily. I almost fell on my seat laughing but thankfully I balanced myself properly.
