I asked passing Ivan his plate and getting comfortable on the couch. “Teen romance, movie adaptation from a book-“ “Say no more, I love love love book movies especially when it’s about high schoolers!” I said excitedly. “High school in movies and books -books especially- are way way better than real life” I ranted more in excitement. “Alright Nuts, your excitement wins” he laughs and plays the movie. “Yuppie yayyy! Book moviee!” I laughed loudly. “Come here, come closer” Ivan pats the space beside him and I scoot over leaving a little bit of space between us and Ivan puts his arm around my waist and pulls me closer that I find myself half on his laps and half on the couch.

I replied. "How? You should prefer to watch a movie than read a book." "No!" She snatched the book from my hands and tossed it on the floor causing me to glare at her. "You have to watch movies and I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than a book." I picked up the book from the floor, shaking my head. "Some people just prefer reading to watching movies." "Oh, really?" she said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "People like who?"

My mother passed it on to me once realized that I love reading. To be fair I did watch the movie once I was a bit older. They included most of the famous line from the book, but there were a few things that I didn't like about the movie. I mean The great gatsby was written in a different time. but they included modern music in the movie. I wished that they would have used music from the time the book was written in. Everything else in the movie was just over the top for me.

Being in a bookstore increased those chances a bit. “You know,” the young man said, “I read your first book, Out of the Shadows, Into the Dark.” “Well, thank you.” “Don’t thank me yet. I didn’t say whether I liked it or not.” This surprised a laugh out of Brad. “Touché.” “I’m just messing with you,” the man said, wearing an infectious grin. “I thought it was a great book, creepy and atmospheric. The movie adaptation, on the other hand . . . that was a real stinker.”

We arrived at the movie theater and watched the movie Mulan. We enjoyed the movie since we were both fans of it. "Damn! The movie was so good! I just wish that Wushu was still there though," I said as we were walking out of the theatre. "It's still good anyway because they based it on the book itself," Neil said. I licked my lips to taste and remove the cheesy sprinkles on the popcorn that we ate earlier. Then I threw the popcorn's container at the trash bin that we passed by. "So what do we do next?"

“Proud? Did you see the life-sized cutouts? How did you get them all printed so fast and then shipped out so fast? How?” “Money talks Cruz. My editorial team is thinking this is the best book yet. They’re even talking about movie rights.” “Movie rights?” “Yes. It won’t be as sexy as the Shape of Water which as far as weird love stories goes feels like a benchmark, but I still think it will be hot. Hey, have you ever considered acting?” she tried not to giggle as he staggered back from her in disbelief. He walked to the patio doors and stood there for several seconds with his hands against the glass and his back hunched.

“And they are not immortal. You just have to plunge a silver knife in their heart and cut off their head. Poof! They’re dead.” She seemed to be on the verge of tears when I didn’t like the film as much as she wanted me to. “Look, Elaine.” I reached for her hands. She pulled them from me at first but they eventually sought my warmth. “The movie is cool, at least not for us. The author have a brilliant mind—” “Her name is Stephenie Meyer,” she chirped. “Stephenie has a brilliant idea but it just doesn't resonate with us. It doesn’t resonate with the real-life folks that the creatures are based on but the movie looks good, I guess.”

They thought they had been deceived. Except for the same characters, the movie had nothing to do with the novel. The famous scene of how the protagonists fell in love in the rain was cut off. All the other romantic sweet scenes disappeared as well. The novel's fans were outraged when they exited the screening hall. They flooded the official account of "Maple Love" with criticism as they simply couldn't believe how bad the adaptation was.

Dawson snapped, making Damien quiet. I sighed, this was getting old. I snatched a drink from the tray and also some chocolates. I threw myself back on the pillow and they both fell on either side of me. The movie turned on and I grinned, I felt so special and important. Even if the two bickering heads next to me seemed fit to ruin the night before it started. The movie was a comedy about two shifter males on a road trip and even though I liked it, I felt myself getting tired pretty quickly after the long day. Laying on a cozy cloud between two warm bodies that relaxed me also did the trick.
