I snort aggressively at my grandfather's statement. He clearly doesn't know shit about college students. I feel Annalia’s hand around my tightened fists. “Laura, you should warn your father. He shouldn't speak that way about my daughter, it won't be tolerated”. My father says, anger evidently heard in his tone. My father hardly gets upset and if eventually, he does, it certainly doesn't end well. “See, he doesn't want to hear anything bad about his daughter and he is the one who has failed in giving her a good training”.

The moment Mom heard the question, her eyes welled up with tears again. "Mr. Nolin, your son helped my daughter's so-called best friend change the college applications she'd already filled out. Now she only managed to get into a college through waitlist admission." The room fell silent for several seconds. Leanne's face instantly turned pale. "That… That can't be possible. I've always taught Preston to be kind and honest since he was a kid. How could he…" Michael's expression darkened too. He took a deep breath and looked straight at Dad.

“Dumbass, are you there?” “Yes dad. What do you want?” My good for nothing son answers. Goddess I can’t believe I created such a worthless species. There is not one part of me that is proud of anything he has done. He had the chance to be mated to Kemira and he turned her down for his bed warmer Gemma. She is a pathetic excuse for a Luna. Even I have had her in my bed. Yet my son turned down perfection to keep that pathetic woman by his side. “I need to know what is going on there? Have the royal guards left yet?” I ask with little patience left for my son. I can hear him exhale through the phone.

It's still bad, but at least he has some human decency towards our sister. Ashton Nord is the last one. And he's my favorite out of my brother's whole posse, if I'm being honest. He's pretty sweet, has morals and is kinda handsome, not gonna lie. Although, he basically is a walking god like the rest of them, but he doesn't take advantage of that by using it to lure girls in. No, like I said, Ashton is the only one with morals. But he's also really quiet and quite scary. I would make the argument to say that he can be the scariest out of all of them.

His head whips to the side to stare at me just before he bursts out in laughter, “I don’t think there is a comparison there, sweetness. Cum is supposed to come out, but blood is supposed to continue pumping through your body.” Giggling, I shake my head at his weird thought process, “I’m not sure about you, Jory. I hope these kids come out halfway normal,” I tease. He pokes me in the side, “Who wants to be normal in this big fucked up world? They are going to come out perfect.” I grab his hand to stop the poking and lace my fingers through his, “They will be perfect, Jory, because their father is perfect...in his own fucked up way.” I wink.

Her voice was light and playful because it had to be. Ethan laughed, leaving a kiss on her temple. "Of course, love. You just need more sleep." But sleep wasn't the problem. Reality was. The house, the life, the husband-it was all too perfect. And perfection, she was starting to realize, was its kind of prison. --- The scent of freshly ground coffee and toasted bread filled the kitchen, blending with the crisp morning air. Ethan sat at the breakfast table, reading the newspaper as he always did, a portrait of effortless domesticity. A plate of eggs and fruit waited for Lena, prepared exactly as she liked.

I've seen this boy make lords fall to their knees under his gaze. But I know my son better than anyone else. I have raised him since he was freshly hatched and trained him to be a perfect advisor to his brother. He doesn't have a truly regal bone in his body, but he is perfect for doing the jobs that require a bit of blood underneath one's talons. Segundus has so few morals and desires so much to be accepted and loved so dearly, that manipulating him into doing whatever I've needed him to do has been an easy challenge.
